Default Production is improving

Credit where credit is due, there are definitely improvements being made this series production wise. It's not perfect yet but it's a start

- The new set is amazing and I really like the new beds they have for Emma to talk over into the break and when she was introduced at the top of the show, they sound much more professional and tense than the old tacky ones did

- I LOVE the transitions during the highlights (and the smashing glass effect when Emma introduces them as opposed to zooming onto the big screen), probably the best on C5 so far. And the time stamps are nice too. Graphics all round are good for me

- I am really glad they've started to be somewhat more transparent with what's happening. We were told of what to expect twist wise tonight in advance, which is more than can be said for the past few years. This makes it seem less manipulated and more pre-planned, for the first time in a while it seems like they may actually have a schedule of what to do when?

- The rotating stairs are a mess but I prefer them to the bridge

- I actually like the concept of the twist and how it's being executed so far, the voices stick to a script mostly and are stern in explaining it. Despite the fact they obviously know there's two houses and it was idiotic to keep them secret, I like the idea of them swapping/losing housemate status/targeting people so long as it's not just scrapped next week. You built the house for a reason so stick to it for once

- That said, how are The Others supposed to play a game if you're gonna lie to them too and put the people they evicted in with them? The point is they need to know what they're doing, it's no point lying to them too or where's the game? How is the game changing?

Few negatives:

- Marcus seems to have been scaled back and toned down a lot which he must be fuming about but WILL YOU TELL HIM TO SHUT THE **** UP on evictions. I swear he was worse than usual tonight

- Learn to control the housemates FFS. Screaming at them to leave the house or everyone will face severe consequences, telling them to sit down a hundred times, telling Chelsea to 'move away'. It's an embarrassment

Anyway yeah things are looking good for the most part so kudos I just really hope they don't ditch the twist a week in or spoil the series with some ridiculous stunt like 4In4Out in a bid to chase falling ratings

What's with the wind chimes when she's talking to the house?

If they took out the "previously" and "coming up" sections, I'd watch more often. I detest this current trend of telling you what you just watched like 2 minutes ago as if we're too thick to remember, and instead of wasting air time on what is coming up - just show it for heavens sakes!
I wonder how much actual house footage we see in a one hour episode - 15 minutes?

Asolutely agree - if you ever want to see the worst version of this check out a Dr Phil episode on Youtube...

But in regards to C5 doing it - once you know, you notice it so much - a previously and a coming up...its not on - just show the footage!!

Also the camerawork during Emma's segments still makes me sea sick.

All that spinning around and zooming in and out.

I thought it had improved for the most part but it was a bit shaky when she was on the elevated platform in the foreground

Oh and one more negative that brought the positives of live production down, that tacky 'VOTE IS NOW CLOSED' sky shot they do can they not. Just put a banner on the screen or on the big screen ffs

I know right! And they're always below her looking up I mean it looks unprofessional and it's not a very flattering angle it's like Verne Troyer is the cameraman

Because the screens are so high up they're angling the cameras on emma horribly; facing upwards. Made me feel sea sick too!

i find the production is still AWFUL to be honest.
last nights show was the messiest i have ever seen since the move to C5.
everything was just executed so badly, i do not understand why the producers find it all so difficult? its like the place is run by chimps.

I thought it had been great but last night's live show was one of the most shoddy, poorly produced live show they've ever produced. Thank god the housemates actually seem to be decent this year so it hasn't affected the series too much.

They've improved massively this year but last night's live show was a mess. They need to think through things more and execute live twists more professionally

BUT-

They've changed the tension music and I don't like the new one.
They've added Big Brother asking the housemates to leave like we asked but mixed it with Marcus.
They've brought back Marcus' countdown and made it even more messy.
The sirens are still there.
Emma's script to the house has changed for the worse.
Marcus' introduction of Emma is longer.

I think most of its improved especially the graphics but the dramatic X Factor type music when the doors to the second house open is embaressing .

I agree with the points you've listed, but as others have mentioned:

- The weird camera angles are still there (it's a Big Brother live show, not TFI Friday)
- Emma's script is still full of pop-culture gags and recaps every 10 minutes
- Marcus is still telling the housemates to leave even though last night proved that Big Brother could (and should) easily do it
- Marcus is still reading the voting terms even though Emma could easily do it (live or pre-recorded)
- The eviction siren is back despite a different sound being played before it

I do like the new tension theme, but I was hoping that because they have got a new one that they'd put the old one back so it would play when the housemates are leaving the house. The highlights are also improving but they've still got the OTT VT at the top of the show which lets it down (same with the eviction shows).

the live show was maybe a nit shoddy but i'll wait for an actual eviction to judge the feel of it

i'm loving the highlight shows though
