Civilian has fallen sooooooo far from grace that i think its unsalvageable.
They treat the long term fans (of 16 years) disgracefully yet pander to the fair-weather twitter followers who are granted their MTV style casting. Teenagers now control this mess of a format. And Producers are facilitating it. Casting directly from modelling agencies (Jale revealed that there were only two from her series that actually auditioned normally, the rest where cast from agencies) TOWIE, Chelsea, Geordie Shore, Love island. All obsessed with stupid, good looking people, shagging each other, having fake romances and fighting. THAT is what our beloved civilian BB has become. Another scripted drama. We now no longer have to contend with 1 or two showmances a series, they're trying to get them ALL having showmances. I no longer trust the people in charge to deliver 'reality' TV. Its abysmal At least with Celebrity Big Brother theres a chance to have some normal looking, normal sounding people in there. Because they're cast for their name and not their face/6 pack.

Honestly I prefer CBB because even though the housemates might be Z listers they're not all complete fake wannabes

That's the problem with civilian BB... they are no longer civilians. So many of them have celebrity connections. I want proper civilians with no fame hungry past to enter the house.

I think the producers know if they cast 'regular people' they'd be left with some old biddies exchanging recipes and be cancelled. they need attractive show offs for ratings, otherwise we'd be left with no show |

Too glam to give a damn

I think this is the strongest start there's been to a C5 series tbh. The MTV-style casting is to be expect because of Viacom and the direction C5 has taken the show, but I think the twist itself is working quite well so far.

The Italian Job

I think it's brilliant and that's thanks to the diverse cast. So many different and strong personalities. We still have people who do nothing all day and they're the ones we need to evict.

I avoid these types of people like the plague in my life, why would i want to watch them on TV for 10 weeks?
Give me ordinary people with interesting stories any day

Barbara from Greggs can stay at home and continue to make her pasties, thinking she can get 10 weeks off so she can tell her stories about her 17 cats.
