Default Am I the only one who belives it's not set up?

A lot of people are saying this season is scripted and set up, I know every season usually gets this but the current season In particular is very under fire.

Firstly, I don't think the couple's both auditioned, it was clearly one and the partner got scouted or both got scouted. But I do think they was unaware of the other housemate being a housemate. The only one I question is Jayne and Chelsea.

Secondly, The whole Marco & Laura photo. Both in London and in a night club, odds of them bumping into each other is rare but still very possible, and well judging Laura she likes "celebs" and I guess son of a celeb falls into that category, I think the photo doesn't mean they're "friends" in the real world, but have spent a night partying.

Thirdly, The whole "They're going into the other house." Comment, comments like this are said nearly every time a popular housemate is evicted (The audience didn't do a go job of making it seem legit). But obviously, with this years twist people would jump onto that comment more.

Overall, I think we'll be in for a good season and I hope the controversy doesn't make it flop. (Even though the twist all ready has) my main concern for the season so far is getting from 18 to five in seven weeks.

Producers trying to script it as much as possible for maximum profit.

HM's doing there best to do the winning egotistical entertaining thing and blundering about in the producers comedy of errors.

For example 'Sexy' got targeted not 'smartest' or 'leader' or 'game player'!!! (WTF!)

I do think the conspiracy theories are going into overdrive this year if I'm honest but at the same time I understand why.

But yeah, I think they've been aware of Marco and Laura crossing paths in the past (this doesn't mean they knew each other closely or anything) but I don't at all buy into the "show is scripted" stuff. Like, someone even suggested the Chelsea / Ryan confrontation was scripted and acted which I think it way off the mark.

It's reality TV, there's always going to be an element of them setting certain scenarios up knowing full well what they're doing (Marco and Laura for example) but do I think the whole show is set up and faked? Not at all.

My main thing is that look at the types of arguments and discussions that Ch4's Housemates used to have, and then watch this series in particular and I think that people would notice just how much more real the Ch4 series is in comparison.

Yes Ch4 also had it's fixing moments, but never to the point of where the Housemates were fake in the way that the production was presenting them to the public.

Hmm, i'm not sure actually, most of the rows we have seen in the Others house have been natural IMO.

I don't think it's scripted personally.

What I do think is Marco and Laura knew each other at least in passing and have decided to have a relationship in the house for attention.

It is set up but not scripted.
I dont doubt for a second that they are sent into the house to fulfil a role which makes me sad but no it isnt scripted.

Well most of the drama last night was 'set up', but I don't think it's scripted.

Laura and Marco probably agreed to their storyline ahead of time, I don't buy that Charlie,Jason, Sam and Ryan didn't know about each other beforehand since they've all been setting it up and talking about their connections non-stop despite the fact that Sam and Jason are supposedly meant to be in the dark about everything.

The only connection I could POSSIBLY see as being genuine is Jayne and Chelsea since neither has chosen to place much emphasis on their connection that much. I could possibly buy them not knowing that they both going in but then again it's more likely that they are playing it smarter and more subtle then the others.

It's not 'scripted' in the way that there's a writer in an office writing the event for 10:24pm and handing out a script to housemates.

It is acted however by the housemates. Very little of last night's show felt natural. Shouting out of no where, breaking through fire exits, people crying... over what? Over acted and very fake. I'm still enjoying how messy it is, although I feel sorry for these idiots thinking they're probably making iconic TV, when really they're just teaching us a lesson in how not to act.

What happens isn't exactly scripted, but coached and suggested.

Conversely, Natalie's blind rage - she must be a brilliant actress if she's faking it.
