I don't think they've run out of ideas, they're just afraid to try a task that doesn't cause a massive rift in the house for once because they're not used to it

The murder mystery task in BB15 was the last good task I can remember

The cast is too good for us to need a good task.
But, yes, they should bring a task that doesn't involve ranking and labeling housemates - I think they already made a point.
