FORMER X Factor star Rylan Clark-Neal looks set to cement himself as one of the best TV presenters in the business.

The Essex lad is on the verge of replacing Emma Willis to present Big Brother from 2017.

According to multiple sources the flamboyant star has been in talks for weeks to host the main Channel 5 show when Emma steps down.

An initial whistleblower told Daily Star Online: "Emma loves the show but feels it is time to move on.

"The decision to leave has come from her and not Channel 5.

"Big Brother has been a big part of her career but with three children, a show on Heart Radio and presenting The Voice on ITV next year it just wasn't practical."

A second source close to the show continued: "Obviously Rylan is excited about the job but he's really nervous about filling Emma's shoes.

"She's been such a big part of the programme anyone would have second thoughts about following her onto the main show.

"His stint on Bit On The Side has been a huge success but landing the top gig will really cement him as a star."

A third source also confirmed the claims when we sought to verify them this week.

However, when contacted by Daily Star Online Channel 5 initially refused to comment.

That being said, after we told them we were still going to publish the claims, they updated their response to: "This is untrue."

Meanwhile, a rep for Emma and Rylan, who conveniently share the same management, said: "There are is no truth in this."

The news comes just weeks after Rylan was confirmed to co-host Xtra Factor this autumn.

However, unlike Emma's gig fronting The Voice, Rylan's role on Xtra Factor will be over by the time the new series of Big Brother starts.

If she were to leave it would probably be after the ultimate (or whatever it's called) series next year. I can't see it though, her pay is very likely to be pretty darn good at BB, that's incentive enough to stay on.

I'm glad their management and channel 5 have said its false. But when Emma does quit they'd be so stupid to make Rylan the main host

Channel 5: So unfortunately, since we've noticed a high amount of what people call 'bias' in your hosting, and also due to the clear disinterest we notice from you, I'm afraid we have no choice but to fire you and replace you with a fairer host like that Rylan.
Emma: No! You're not firing me! .....I quit!

I wouldn't say it's hate for Rylan (I myself have said many times that I like him on his other projects outside of Big Brother). It's just that he's not really main-show material - we've already been through this before with the transition of Brian to Emma. Brian was replaced because he too wasn't main-show material. Both of the current hosts suite their current roles - if Emma quits then someone else should be brought in to replace her. It isn't Rylan's time to step up yet.

I don't Hate Rylan on BOTS as the show has changed a lot anyway and is he kinda a fitting presenter as he is for xtra factor as well
But Rylan on the main show would be terrible. IMO it needs to be a strong and pationate woman who also has a really fun and lovable side
