If they really wanted a non-celebrity, why didn't they just do what they did with Chantelle and actually advertise for one non-celebrity and allow people to audition for it? That's how she got on in the first place. Pretty much hand-picking someone based on notoriety you're aware of with them makes them automatically somewhat of a celebrity
