iguel Sanchez was hired as a contractor to do repairs in an apartment complex in Century City, but when his coworker Jesse arrived on the site August 4th, he was subjected to a racist assault by a resident.

In a video that Sanchez shared on Facebook of the encounter, a woman is seen blocking Jesse from entering the premises to begin their work. “She was calling us wetbacks and that we were probably there to steal their stuff,” he later explained in an interview with KTLA5. “After all those racial comments on us, I got my phone out and I started recording.”

In the footage, the woman – who has since been identified by neighbors as Rhonda Michelle Polon – is seen throwing a scalding hot coffee directly into Sanchez’s face.

I hope he presses charges. Stupid cow.

I can not hear the dialogue on this video except for; "I told you; get out of my face" and as any type of evidence it is useless without the narration - apart from the fact that she did definitely throw her drink, though whether she deliberately aimed it at his face or just blindly threw it is not clear also -though in any context it is a confrontational and violent act.

Did the hot drink hit his face?

I'm not saying that the Mexican worker's version of events is not the truth, just that from the video alone it is impossible to confirm that version.

If it is the truth, then the woman is dangerous besides racist and SHOULD be prosecuted.

The subsequent threats allegations should also be thoroughly investigated and the culprits also prosecuted.

I don't understand his comment about this video making a "difference" when both of them were being quite provocative. (was reading a follow-up article **source below**). The lady has since been harassed and she is being doxxed with address and phone numbers in comment sections on the local news sites. To me, just seems like an overreaction given the full contents of the video.

There's no footage of racist commentary that I could hear in the video. Not the best quality. We often talk in SD about how we should withhold our verdict on incidents as news develop in cases such as suspected terrorism (despite circumstantial evidence).

Here we have circumstantial evidence of racism, and yet nothing in video. The wetback comment is unacceptable if it was made, and yet these folk called the dude white trash in video. It is also the equivalent of when Hispanic folk call Mexicans/other Hispanics wet-backs.

Anyway, seems like a nice rich/upper class area and I feel like this is better an example of blatant class discrimination than exceptional case of racism. The lady probably prompted the situation with her drama queen behavior and I'm sure slurs were exchanged both directions. However, just seems these "workers" were entirely unprofessional and for the several minutes this transpired, they had multiple T's they could've taken to resolve the issue... instead, they ratcheted up the drama by pulling out the phone, shouting back and forth, following the lady into the building... not a good idea if someone is "suspicious" of you... though I do think it is quite funny she is still accusing them of being criminals while they are not only remaining on property, but recording the incident.

Anyway, on a personal level, I don't think that coming up to someone's face with a phone is a good idea. My blood would boil if someone pulled out a device and starting following me around and getting in my face. I would have lost it.

I do think too it is ironic, with this being so panned here, the throwing of coffee being treated something like a smoking gun by the media, when several users here have had gifs in sigs of people acting aggressively, tossing drinks onto one another and other messy behavior....

It's just a dumpster fire all around as I'm concerned, this incident. But not what I would call the best example of discrimination. Seems like all four of them were complete dicks in equal measure. Especially robe guy... go put some pants on... the last guy, I tentatively named "wtf" guy who randomly came out late to "resolve" the issue... seems like all 5 of them wanted to be the parking lot hero and get a piece of that mess. A sad moment in humanity was just witnessed by viewers at home, but not for the reasons the title stipulates. Anyway, this would've made a great Cops episode... still trying to come up with a good title...

If that is true, then they both need to stop playing hero and file charges. I would be concerned about the media putting their names out there, when clearly they've said things in that video that could inspire some loon out in the public. They're already been sharing the lady's info around in comment sections and wouldn't put it past some crazy idiot out in the public to grab a hold of theirs and distribute...

The coffee throwing would've been enough to file, but threats are a different ballgame. I couldn't hear any of that through in the audio with all the yimmering and yammering back and forth. Obviously we could hear the two closest to the phone yelling fine, but it was difficult to hear over with the "narrating"...
