Meghan Markle has launched the first product from her new business American Riviera Orchard, sending 50 influencers and friends a jar of strawberry jam.

Fashion designer Tracy Robbins and Argentine socialite Delfina Balquier are among those who have posted an image of the product on their Instagram Stories today.



Fans of Meghan have been left hugely excited by the launch, with one tweeting: 'I don't eat jam that much but for you Meg I'm buying some. In fact hubby and kids will eat them on my behalf.'

Unless the pot stays closed they will grow mould on top if not eaten, maybe its the jar that is the collectors item

I'm American and unfortunately they don't let you forget here in the States anyway if you follow any kind of online media. They have a hate following for sure. One day our children's children will be studying them in schools and wondering what could have been...?

I used to watch channels that featured them a lot with royal stuff, but I stopped watching mainly because I don't really care that much about what they're doing (or not doing).

But I think in the US, if anyone is a "celebrity" with any level of fame and living in CA, chances are they will be featured at some point in some headline and spotlighted in every other American news sources as "current" interesting news. If they had not lived in such a place, they'd never be featured... that industry is self-containing. Just move to any area, preferably not CA but not maybe not even NY, and the industry won't really bother them... that's why so many people who want to be famous will live off of ramen to afford to rent there in the hopes to get noticed, because location is so critical. Outside of that area, people just don't care about celebrity. But yeah, unfortunately, other channels with actual news feature them for clicks even though they're not really relevant to US matters... and it's because they live in a spot of the US that is known for being a media petri dish. So even people who don't care still have to hear about them... that's most celebrities, not just Harry or Meghan in the US. The celebrity thing is self-perpetuating... it's not an organic thing

I agree in part however you also can't discount the fact that social circles (some of them, of course, horrific social circles; I'm not saying Hollywood is was a happy place) are a huge draw for choice of where to settle. You can say "if people want privacy they can just move elsewhere" but this is a young/new family that now lacks blood-family ties, thus proximity to friends becomes more important.

I know this will be countered with "they chose to cut contact with blood family!"

and

"Hollywood celebrity pals are not good close friends to have!"

Both of which may be true, I personally find the former questionable but I know some people strongly advocate for accepting poor treatment from family "cos it's family", but anyway, this isn't about personal thoughts on the reasons...

All I'm really saying is, I don't think it should be dismissed out-of-hand that the reason "the famous" might end up cluistering like this, might not just be because of "wanting to be noticed and relevant". It's probably at least in part about community. Which humans (as social animals) crave. Whether or not it's a healthy community is not really relevant.
