A full statement added: A man with a sword has been arrested after an attack on members of the public and police officers in Hainault on Monday.
In a statement, the Metropolitan Police said: “Police and other emergency services are in Hainault, east London, at a serious incident in which a man with a sword has been arrested.
“We were called shortly before 7am to reports of a vehicle being driven into a house in the Thurlow Gardens area. There were reports people have been stabbed.
“At this time we understand the suspect went on to attack other members of the public and two police officers.
“We are awaiting an update on the condition of those injured.
“A 36-year-old man was arrested at the scene and he is in custody.”

…because the first victim(s)and beginning of the incident was at a private residence and one appears to have been a young male according to the reports….and the attacker seemed to very much have a clear purpose in going there with a weapon…it has the feel of some victims at least, being very specific for who they are, rather than ‘targeting for gender’….two of the victims were police officers, so I’m thinking that they may have been injured in trying to stop him…

The two members of public remain in hospital but their injuries are not life threatening, the Metropolitan Police confirmed.

Two police officers remain in hospital with stab wounds and both require surgery for “significant injuries” but they are not thought to be life threatening.
