Alisha’s mum is an X jailbird

X FACTOR favourite Alisha Bennett is hiding a secret heartbreak – her mum was sent to jail when the singer was just a kid.

Alisha was only 13 when Sharon was banged up for nearly three years.

The talented Londoner – who has no contact with her dad – was passed between her mum’s best friend and her aunt and uncle while Sharon served time for credit card fraud.

The singer, 23, – who is being mentored by Sharon Osbourne – told TV Biz: “It was a terrible time for me and my mum but now we’ve put it behind us.

“Mum’s my biggest fan and we’re so close that she’s like my big sister.”

Alisha, a gym receptionist who sings in a church gospel choir, describes her and her mum as an “Ab Fab” pair – as they are both loud and flamboyant.

Alisha also revealed that she was inspired to audition for X Factor after seeing fans queuing to watch last year’s winner Leona Lewis at the show’s studios near her home in Wembley, North London.
