That was ridiculous, Hope are awful and no way should Bev have gone over them. Sharon didn't have the guts to get rid of Simon's act.

That's true, Sharon showed she was going to be impartial from now on - she said she would and making the votes balanced was the most impartial thing she could have done. At least we genuinely had the right act leaving for once - because Beverley had the least amount of votes.

Agreed.
Don't get me wrong, I wasn't a Bev fan, I'm more of a Phoebe fan, but Hope did not deserve to stay.

They're on thin ice.
3 times in the bottom.
Leon, Niki, Rhyd, and SD haven't been in the bottom yet.
Hope are at an immediate disadvantage.

The only thing that worries me, is that the judges no longer have a say.

I think Sharon was told to do that, to make it more dramtic, the results were even in a sliver evelope.

Leon so should of gone and been in the bottom two.

I agree now. And am surprised at Sharon's decision, as well. It was all very unexpected, especially based on tonight's performance. The show isn't just about singing anymore, that's for certain. It's such a shame people just didn't bother voting for Beverley.

But surely you can see that Sharon (possibly influenced by Simon. I'd say probably, actually) was being the most impartial she could possibly be and was balancing the votes. It's only fair that the act with the least votes went. If you had the knowledge, each week, of who had the least number of votes, every week would be "unfair"

I think it was the right decision on Sharon's behalf, unfair on Beverley but in the long run, Hope are far more likely to sell records.

From what I mentioned though, I think it's evident that Beverley may well have fans, but doesn't gain votes because viewers vote for other acts. She doesn't pick up votes and is constantly overshadowed, despite her singing abilities. The judges had the chance to allow her to offer more, and stand out a bit more regardless of her normally strong performances. I don't think it's right that Sharon was influenced by Simon.

I am quite sure she was certain Beverley would be the one with the least votes. In my opinion, the decisions should have been based on tonight's performances, and I 100% think that Beverley was miles better. That's why it's unfair.

And, I too agree that Hope are likely to sell records either way. Whereas Beverley has missed out on her dream of making it into the top 5.

So the floor manager wouldn't have them ready in case it went to deadlock?

Tonight is a wake up call for the rest of the acts. You can give great performances week in week out but one bad week and you can be kicked out of the competition.

I agree that people just weren't voting for her. Beverley and Niki share similar fanbases. Niki was better on the night, I think that's why Beverley was in the bottom two. She doesn't, unlike Hope, get very much media attention. In this case, no news is bad news. I don't think it's right Sharon was influenced either, but I still maintain it was the most impartial thing she could have done in that situation. I think if she does it again next week it will be stupid, but I don't think she will. I think she was aware that Beverley wasn't going to pick up votes, explaining her comment.
There's a certain stage where artists are going to be able to get a career. Unless you're Maria Lawson, being voted off before the halfway point won't earn you a singing career. Even after the halfway point, it's not looking likely. Even some of the previous finalists + Steve Brookstein's careers have failed to happen. I think, in all honesty, Hope have two more weeks maximum, but it's for the best - they can easily carve out a career from this show.

Valid, but I think Hope have had two weeks running where they have been below par and are still in. I think it's more a case of, you have to be memorable to earn votes. Memorable doesn't necessarily mean a good singing, it can be based on the actual performance i.e. Same Difference.
