Hey
![]() we had some work done on our house and the builder we used started the main extention bit building the new room starting the roof and everything seemed ok but then he started the inside and had not much idea he had to lay the floor tiles 3 times because he kept standing on them when they were wet! was going to change the boiller until we questioned whether he was corgi reqestered etc then asked for money the odd £500 here etc as he had stared the work we paid him for what he said he'd done plus materials, but it turned out that he is a know con man who trading standards know well but there is nothing much they can do unless we take legal action ad sue him but this costs more money that we dont have and he could just declare himself bankrupt! Trading standards have told us to save receipts, letters etc but is there anything you can suggest that could help us to get something back from him!! anything would be gratefully received! Thankyou! |

Is he due to return to your house at any point or has he abandoned the job?

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This happened to us a while back; our bathroom roof had caved in randomly, and we gave this guy £200 to get some materials to repair it...he scarpered. We thought we could trust him since he [was] a friend of my older brother.
