Apparently we now live in a culture of binge drinking and violence.
My own thoughts on alcohol and violence are that people who are violent when intoxicated are generally violent or aggressive anyway. I totally accept that alcohol does change me but it doesn't change me enough to make me aggressive/violent. When i get p*ssed i tend to fall over and end up injurying myself but i don't feel the need to be violent or aggressive towards others. Why?....because i'm not an aggressive person. Even when p*ssed i have choices

I agree in that sense. Alcohol doesn't completely change your character, but solely removes inhibitions. This is partly why (as happened on many occasions) when a friend does something stupid and says, "oh I was drunk" I don't pay too much attention.
More often than not, the person in question simply wouldn't have done what they did under normal circumstances, but wanted to - and the same applies to people who become violent and aggressive. I would add that it's different when those who are drunk are taken advantage of though, and despite the fact that they shouldn't have gotten into such a state, I fully sympathise with their situation. |

Alcohol is escapeism.
When it goes beyond that point, or to a more extreme version of escapeism - that's when we have problems. Understand why the British public NEEDS to escape Low-paid jobs, high working hours...

You may disagree but i believe programmes such as BB, Road Wars and numerous other Reality programmes do not help matters. What a great way to get on Tv??? Ps. I hope you don't get too p*ssed on you're Birthday and come looking for a fight? LOL. Enjoy

Just a quick medical note as to why drunk women tend to be more lairy than men. When women drink it raises their testosterone level to that of the average level of a non drunk male. As they are not used to this on a day to day level it has a marked affect on them.
