Default What improvements for Big Brother 11 ?

After 9 series with the same format, do you think the producers should make improvements, change something or bring new rules ?

Or do you think it's perfect the way it is and nothing should be changed ?

It can concern the house, the competitions, the way it is edited etc...

I love the current format but there is some ways the show could be made better
I really like watching the game playing but I want to see more day to day stuff of the housemates, I want to know what they are like as a person without playing the game. Maybe that could be done by another show each week with highlights of the week

I think there should maybe be a divide in the house (like rish or poor..) it would make interesting viewing cos alliances would find it hard to talk about plans etc. And if people are always on the same side as eachover they could end up making side alliances.

Just a thought.

-I think the house should be changed: a new layout and new rooms will be added...and way smaller !!

-Then I think some new twists should be added: the HOH nominates 3 houseguests. Then one wins the Power of Veto and has the right to remove one of the 3 off the block.

-Also I think the Jury should contain all previous houseguests.

-2 latecomers enter on week 3 to spice up the show. Those new houseguests would have been locked for 3 weeks before entering the house, it will keep them away from knowing everything.

-And finally, stop the cheesy music !

Actually I want to see the show being more dynamic, funnier and sexier. More modern in fact.

same format, plus some rule/ from Big Brother US, maybe bring back the exchange housemate from different countries.

Maybe all housemate should come in pair( like former Roommate, Brother/Sister)

or bring the enemy of the housmate like ( former Best Friend, Estrange mother/ Father, Ex Boyfriend/Girlfriend)

Or we should reunite two people never know that they are brother/ sister or Mother and child.

I like all those ideas apart from getting rid of the cheesy music

I definitely think they need to completely re-do the house - it has had the same layout since BB6, so it's due a change. I don't think they should make it smaller though - the nature of the show means the houseguests need as many places as possible for bitching, strategising and forming alliances in.

They should definitely try some new twists too.

A blogger on my site came up with a few good ideas too, my favourite being this one:

Quote:
3. One-off Powers and Priveleges

When Big Brother introduced the Coup D’État during Big Brother All-Stars, I was really excited. It could easily have turned the entire season on its head in the space of a few seconds. Sadly, it was never used—and it looks like it’s put the producers off trying something similar in more-recent seasons.

I for one would love to see the Coup D’État make a comeback in Big Brother 11, and there are many similar powers which could be awarded. I’ve always been intrigued by the thought of allowing a HouseGuest to choose whether Thursday’s eviction should be “Fast Forward”, that is, the standard double-eviction episode; and “Rewind”, which would see the most recent evictee returning during the live show.

The amount of HouseGuests would then be corrected by adding a “classic” Double Eviction Week later in the series. Sure, it isn’t a fully-formed idea, but it gives you an idea of the sort of thing the producers could be doing.

See his other suggestions here

Have more diverse housemate. Not just a house full of gorgeous young thangs, and then your token over 50 male and mid forties single mom.

Perhaps a new format to the HoH comps, so that they're longer.

Go back to your roots and let the public evict!

But since this will never happen lets go with:

1- Dont recruit people to make up half the house just for looks

2- Have more than 3 shows a week (though unfortunately this would NEVER work on US television, im amazed we get away with 3 episodes a week)

3- DONT have an evicted HM come back in, there is nothing more annoying than that

4- Let the HMs sing on live feeds....its so sickening to hear them start singing or quoting a movie then hear BB say "please stop singing!". Man up and pay your royalties like every other country

5- GET A NEW HOST!!!!! JULIE CHEN BLOWS ASS!!!!

6- Screw it all, our BB is a joke now, just merge with the UK and have 1 mega BB with THEIR rules....until then we will always be a 2nd rate BB IMHO

The house certainly needs a revamp, but gameplay wise it's the Veto which needs sorting out - it's been far too dominant in the game in recent series (since BB6 really), and shouldn't be more important than the role of HoH.

One very easy way to solve this is to link it to the jackpot - set the prize at $1m, but knock off $100,000 everytime the Veto is used. That way there is a price to pay for using it.

Another option is to go back to letting everyone compete in the Veto - that's what they did in BB4, and that IMO is when the Veto worked best.

I also think the Rich/Poor thing could work very well with BBUSA, with the food competition tweaked to determine who lives where. Most importantly though it also separates alliances and allows new ones to be formed - so would add a very interesting new twist to the gameplay.

And again with the Veto it could be tweaked so rather than using it to save a nominee you could use it instead to save someone (or yourself) from "hell", with the HoH then having to send someone from "heaven" there in their place.

Eviction wise the format should be kept the same, but I think when it comes to deciding the winner there is no harm in letting the public have the final say instead of the jury - and if they didn't announce it until midway through the series it would be interesting to see how the houseguests change their strategy in relation to the news.

BBUK was in it's prime during seasons 2, 3, 5, and 7. The format has gone stale, proving that the BBUS format has a longer life span and can provide more entertainment.

BB8 was great in my mind, too. After that, it's been on a helluva slump. They need a good cast, and a great twist, or I stick to the UK.
