I\'m dating Emily from Hope, reveals Leon Jackson
Quote:
I'm dating Emily from Hope, reveals Leon Jackson X FACTOR winner Leon Jackson has spoken for the first time about his new love.
The West Lothian lad opened his heart about his romance with Emily Biggs when we caught up with him at the Forth One awards.
The pair met last year during the filming of the TV talent show where Emily was a member of girlband Hope.
At the time, it was rumoured the two had struck up a close friendship, but both denied there was a relationship.
Now Leon, 20, has told The Razz the truth about his romance. He said: "We are dating. It is a very recent thing so I'm sorry to break everybody's heart.
"We've been friends since the show and have always kept in touch. Now she lives quite near me so it's great because we have got to really know each other."
Leon revealed that the romance grew out of their platonic feelings for one another.
"We just thought we were good friends and thought 'Why not cross that line?'," he said.
"I've always thought she was pretty. It's cool. It's different. We just chill at each other's flats and go to the cinema. Sometimes we go out into town and she drags me round the shops."
Leon said there were pros and cons about having a girlfriend in the music business, but added: "All that matters is if you meet the right person."
And he claimed that a duet between the two lovers was not yet on the cards.
He laughed: "No, not at the moment - as if we have discussed it."
Leon also spoke out about the shock result on Saturday night which saw Laura White controversially voted off The X Factor by Louis Walsh.
The move appeared to be a dig at fellow judge Cheryl Cole, who had earlier slagged off Louis's band Westlife.
He said: "I'm very disappointed, to be honest. Laura has a tremendous vocal talent and I don't like the fact that it's started to become a bit too personal between judges.
"Fingers crossed that she gets a record deal because she is a tremendous talent."
Leon enjoyed his time at the Forth One awards, but he revealed that he didn't have any time to spend with his family while he was in Scotland.
"I've been so busy," he said. "I've been on a tour switching on Christmas lights, which has been fantastic."
