Default Most watched show ever?

Does anyone know what it was, and when, for the UK?
Didn't shows used to get lik 21m in old days?

Yepp, so as I know it was:

1. England winning World Cup 1966- 32.30m
2. Princess Diana's Funeral 1996- 32.10m
3. British Royal Documentary- 30.69m
4. Angie and Den Divorce Xmas 1986- 30.15m

Sorry to be random and horrible but I never support England as a team, everyone says to me "**** off out of this country then!" but I always have and always will support Italy, England would be like my 8th choice to win!

Channel 4, some records, i think??

1. BB3 Finale peak at over 10m (2002)
2. Friends Last ever episode averaged at over 9m (May 2004)

Worldwide Events:

1. Live 8- 3b (50% of world population)
2.Princess Diana's Funeral- 2.5b (about 45% of the world population)

I don't really care about International Football. I've been turning to Spain recently though, but that's just because they have a lot of Liverpool players playing for them, only Gerrard for England now

I doubt many rating will get as high as that again..

Considering back then we had what, 4 or 5 channels to pick from, now there are hundreds!

They could when everyone gets so poor that they can't afford to go out so everyone just stays in and watches TV

Ratings will never be that high. The highest ratings can be will be around 15m-18m now, thats for the soaps at Christmas, reality tv finale's (X Factor, BGT) and maybe some big event eg. If England were to be in a finale of the Euro/World Cup.

But Wallace and Gromit on Xmas Day 2008 got 20 million viewers!!! Very shocked at that, was the highest rating in 2008.
