Console versions suck. The PC versions are just wildly addictive basically. I suppose the appeal is similar to that of MMO's but not that sad.

I find 'em fun.

I used to love it. But I grew out of it really when I was about 11. I mainly played it to design buildings lol

The sims is amazing! The thing that draws me to it is being able to make your own sims, and play their lives how you want it. You decide who they're friends with, you decide where they go (in day time, clubs, etc), you decide what career they do. So many to mention. It's an amazing game. The PC version is a lot better because it's not as limited. You can have the base game, then have nightlife (which basically allows sims to go out at night or just generally hang out somewhere other than their home), then you can have others like seasons which adds weather, university with is self-explanitary, Bon Voyage which makes them go on holiday. It's an amazing gaming experience, plus it's highly addictive and it's great fun because (unless you're copying a story) you never know what's going to happen next...

My Mum is 50 and she plays on it
I've showed me nan (who is 80) how to play on it as well. Plus thesims2.com's forums are filled with people who are over 30 that play on it lol.

I haven't played on it for years but am really looking forward to The Sims 3
You really can't compare the PS2 version to the PC version because there is so much more to the game
The game also never ends and you can just spend hours messing about on it whether that be creating houses and sims or messing about with the expansion packages
