apart from science, none of them seem likeable or human.

Yes, it's hard to know who to support and like at this stage. But I don't mind that too much - I'd rather see them over a few days before I make up my mind. But they do seem an odd mix this year. It's like the producers have said "Put in some characters to be watchable, then put in a load of young people who will be up for some action." Doesn't seem like a good mix to me.
