But if you’re using milk alternative (my mum uses Soya) then the milk first otherwise it can curdle and that’s even worse.

We always used to put the milk alternative in after the water and got mixed results - usually depends on how hot the water is, how long you leave it to brew, how much milk you add etc. But it was only when I noticed on the Asda Smart Price Soy Milk it had a little note which said to add milk first to avoid curdling that she started to put the milk first, to better results.
