L.A Galaxy Boss Bruce Arena: "We owe it all to Tupac"


Los Angeles Galaxy Boss Bruce Arena claims mid-nineties hip-hop rivalries between the East and West coasts have inspired his team to greater heights.

"I'm from New York myself, so of course back in the day I was riding for Biggie", Arena admitted with a rye smile. "None the less, I'm out in Cali now, and nothing feels better than throwing up the Westside. 10 minutes before each game, I put Hit 'Em Up in the boom box, and everyone in the dressing room just starts going crazy.

When asked if he felt that he was opening old wounds by publicizing his teams affiliation with West Coast Gansta Rap, Arena was adamant it was all in good fun.

"We have no beef with the suckas from the other side. I'm not gonna name names, but they know who they are. We rep for our coast but we aren't trying to reignite a civil war".

It is believed Arena was referring to long term Galaxy rivals, D.C United, of the Eastern Conference of the MLS. Arena was the first coach of D.C United, and alluded to the fact his Team's Hero Tupac Shakur, was also originally from the East Coast.

"We've all come from somewhere, but we have to concentrate on where we are now. 'Pac was from the East before he moved out here, but his heart was always in the West. Everyone on the team has had Thug Life tattered on their stomachs, so we never forget our inspiration".

While the new approach seems to have worked for almost all the squad, Arena admits some have been slow to accept it.

"Sure Becks still listens to the Spice Girls, which is why he can go off to Milan with my blessing if the paper is right. All I can do right now is keep my eyes on the prize".

Arena left with a chilling warning to all teams across the MLS.

"We respect everyone is getting their hustle on, but the first fools who come to Cali without showing the proper respect.....Well, Just listen to Tupac after he got out of prison. Then you'll know what its going to be".
