Default Can you help ? ? ?

My trusty old BBC computer ar school has at last 'died !I can't tell you how it is missed.

It has been replaced with an obsolete Nimbus....remember...from the olden days.Anyway , most of the software that I have inherited with it is too difficult for my 4 and 5 year olds. There were in the past reading programs at different levels based on the character 'Spot' the dog and his Mother Sally suitable for this machine but they have long gone at my school.
Does anyone know where I can lay my hands on such ancient wonders or anything similar.

Thanks a lot and just to let you know...we also have a 'top of the range' computer suite with all 'mod cons'....but I never get to go in there......thank goodness !

Boris my friend I have no idea about that which you ask, but have done a google search for you and these came up if they are any help:
Nimbus software

(If it asks for a password just click cancel - it worked for me.)

This seems to have contact telephone numbers

and THIS

seems to have something quite reasonable for sale.

Hope this isn't all useless. I tried!

Wow a Nimbus - I haven't used one of those at school for years. Ours died some years ago and we now have ICT suite (available for use for 3 to 11 year olds!!)

If I find any Nimbus disks, I'll let you know. We did have quite a few once upon a time!!

How kind you both are.

I will try your link now Rob.

[after i have spoken to Blikinlovely]

We have 2 'time machines' in our area, both less than 12 months old ,that are always going wrong. The BBc and now the Nimbus are in my bit of personal 'space' ...it is an open plan area.I went 'digging' today and found a tray full of Nimbus stuff and stayed very late testing it all. Alas, it is all either too difficult or does not work. Shame . If you do come across anything usable please let me know. I will 'stump up' for postage and packing etc !Thanks again...Boris XX
