I hate it when they do that. I guess a part of me feels its a sort of 'self-loathing' thing to do. I'm not a Jew but I seem to feel everyone should be proud of their own race and not be a Sharon Osbourne 'race traitor' type of thing.

Sure it does. She is Semitic. A middle-eastern origin. People look right staying truer to their natural family looks.
Likewise, I never thought black hair (as in proper black) looks good on native British women anymore than blonde looks on a Chinese woman.

Is everyone missing the fact shes a lot more tanned in all these pictures? I think that helps as well as the brown hair.

Lets be honest, she probably wouldn't have got past the first round with long brown hair. It's her eccentric image that made her stand out and grab the judges attention.
