No not in any normal enviroment but let's say in an near enough impossible extreme condition like a another world war broke out and people were needed to join the army then yes but that would obviously be a position where your doing it to save your own life as well , i would probably try and make a run for it first though

I'm sure if I was in a situation where I was in mortal danger, I would fight to survive, although I think I would still have reservations about killing my attacker.

Yeah if someone was trying to hurt my kids/children I was looking after or people in my family, I'd go ape****. Although I'm not sure I'd kill the person, I just do as much damage as possible to stop them from hurting us.
