Exclamation Lancaster Islamic girls' school sex assault: Three arrested

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england...shire-21740704

Quote:
Three men have been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and false imprisonment within the grounds of an Islamic girls' school, police said.

Police said they were investigating reports surrounding the welfare of a small group of teenage girls at Jamea Al Kauthar in Lancaster.

A 40-year-old from Bolton and two men from Blackburn, aged 30 and 53, are in police custody.

Searches are being conducted at the school by female officers.

A Lancashire Police spokesman said: "We are still at the very early stages of the investigation and our aim at the moment is to respond to the concerns raised proportionately, in a measured way and with sensitivity.

"We are working closely with the school and the local authorities to establish the circumstances around exactly what has taken place and we have specialist officers supporting the victims."

The secondary school, on Ashton Road, was established in 1996.
Now a school .....

Lightbulb The School - Jamea Al Kauthar

Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh and Welcome

The school is aware of the allegations that have been made and at the present moment the school is fully co-operating with the police with their investigations into the matter. The school will publish a statement of any details it receives, once this has been received. We expect the matter to be cleared up soon.

Jamea Al Kauthar is an independent academic girls’ school establishment aiming to educate Muslim girls over the age of eleven in a safe, secure, happy and Islamic environment. Jamea started with 60 girls in september 1996 and now caters for 440 residential girls from all over the world. We provide an opportunity to study the traditional sciences concurrently with secondary and further education. Jamea Al Kauthar also offers the “Tahfeez Ul Quraan” programme (committing the whole quran to memory) and a two year abridged version of the Islamic Teaching programme in the english medium.

There are currently 401 girls on roll, of whom around half are above compulsory school age. These older students attend Islamic theology courses each morning and other courses provided by Preston Sixth Form College in the afternoon. The school occupies the former Royal Albert Hospital buildings, an historic site with extensive grounds, not far from the centre of Lancaster. It comprises the boarding house, the school buildings and the madrassah, where the Islamic curriculum is taught. The school operates an admission policy of selection by ability. The school’s most recent inspection took place on the 21st of January 2010.

Question Islamic girl's school sex assault arrests: No charges

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england...shire-21930903

Quote:
Two men arrested over an alleged sexual assault at an Islamic girls' school will not face charges, police said.

Officers investigated an alleged incident earlier this month involving a small number of girls at Jamea Al Kauthar in Lancaster.

The Crown Prosecution Service said none of the conduct investigated met the "threshold for criminal prosecution".

However police have also highlighted "significant questions about safeguarding processes in the school".
It would seem that there's a cultural issue regarding standards .....
