Jemima should have said "I havent yet dated a black guy i usually go for XYZ but maybe one day..." Therefore implying she doesnt usually fancy black men without being as insulting.

..I don't think this is about what Jemima's personal preference in a guy is though, some people like blonde hair/brunette/muscular/slim...etc etc...it's more the assumption and comment that Gina probably wouldn't be attracted to a white guy...why wouldn't she..?..would she have said that to Sallie..?...I don't think so..so she made an assumption based on Gina's skin colour...

I didn't see or hear a racist remark in the real sense, had Jemima said, I would never go out with a black guy I cannot stand them,then that would have been nearer being racist.
She was stating a preference as to the guys she liked in a dating sense.
I find it concerning actually that a white women can be pulled up for saying she liked guys dark mediterranean as potential boyfriends/lovers but stipulating,'her choice', that she would not date a black guy.

I tell you something, I doubt very much at all that had Jemima not said much at all but Gina had said that she would not go out with a white guy then likely no warning would have been forthcoming.

I clearly took Jemima's point that she was on about preference of lovers,as she herself pointed out, in the same away as she or others could have said, she preferred guys with blue eyes or blonde or dark hair.
Nothing racist at all and all through Gina was the one provoking throughout, both from the original conversation and also when she asked to speak to Jemima.

Jemima would have been far better to have refused to go and talk to Gina at all, having said that she likely then would have been hauled in for a warning for being discrimatory towards Gina again for a likely race connection.

BB is going to spoil this series with this utter nonsense of giving warnings for harmless incidents like this.

I'm no fan of Jemima, but people need to grow up and get a grip. I've heard black people say they don't fancy white people lots of times. No one batters an eyelid. Why? Because they're entitled to their own sexual preferences. So I don't see why it's suddenly deemed racist if someone white isn't sexually attracted to someone who is black?

I only fancy a very specific type of male and only go for white guys too. Perhaps I should be banned for being racist?...

I agree, people need to get a grip, Jemima had no intention of intimidating Gina whatsoever, which to me is the important factor. If Gina really took offence, which I'm not at all convinced she did, she needs to get rid of the chip on her shoulder. Jem is entitled to her preference seems to me.
