It's not a success, so far. It only attracted 68,000 viewers on its debut. Her first show for TLC broke viewing records for the channel (257,000). TLC expected the new show to be a success, luckily it hasn't been so far.

Why on earth was there a discussion on a Fat Tax anyway? Don't people have enough Tax's to pay already?

I don't care for the show at all, but as far as the fat issue goes, why not charge a fat tax?. You pay extra if you go over the weight limit on luggage, so why not on people too?
Airlines have penalised smokers and people who drink too much, yet being fat, UNLESS it's a medical condition, (in which case the person should have medical paperwork to prove it) is just as much a problem as tobbacco and alcohol.
Britain should stop mollycoddling people in general and make them take responsibility for their own actions, because unless it is through medication or any other medical issue, being fat is a lifestyle choice.

Because people are not luggage. Airlines have followed guidelines that everyone has to due to the dangers of passive smoking drinkers are only penalised if they become disruptive which is perfectly valid.
What they would do is leave themselves open to accusations of fat shaming with an approach like that.
