TV’s Mr Nasty thinks they are the ideal duo to replace current hosts Olly Murs and Caroline Flack as the pair lead a cast of stars into this weekend’s big final.

A source said: “It would cause fireworks poaching Emma and Rylan off Big Brother but Simon usually gets what he wants.

“He nicked Alesha Dixon off Strictly to be a judge on Britain’s Got Talent and Rita Ora from The Voice for The X Factor.”

Caroline, 36, and Olly, 31, landed the top presenting jobs on The X Factor this year as part of a massive show shake-up, replacing Dermot O’Leary.

But they are under pressure for their performances including a blunder in a live results show, when Olly mistakenly revealed that Monica Michaels had been voted off before the official verdict was announced.

The pair will be joined on stage this weekend in the final by superstars Adele, Coldplay and One Direction as wannabes Che Chesterman, Reggie ’n’ Bollie and Louisa Johnson battle it out for glory.

Famous Last year’s winner Ben Haenow will also perform alongside show hero and ex-winner Leona Lewis.

But it could be their last show – and Olly has already admitted: “I don’t know if Caroline and I will be back next year.”

Now Cowell, 56, admits their future is under review.

He said: “We will make changes next year. When I go through the research we have to listen to what people liked and take it into account.”

The Big Brother hosts are top of his list after proving a huge hit on the Channel 5 show.

If chosen Rylan, 27, would be returning to the show that made him famous – as a contestant he finished fifth in 2012 before going on to win Celebrity Big Brother the following year.

And Emma, 39, is one of TV’s most sought-after hosts.

She also fronts The Voice and has worked on This Morning, I’m A Celebrity, Prized Apart and Loose Women.

An insider said: “Emma and Rylan have proved they are a remarkable force as a TV duo.”

Cowell also wants One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson as a judge next year.

The boyband star tells Chatty Man Alan Carr on Channel 4 tonight: “We will see.”

X factor are going to be able to pay a lot more money than BB so if he wants them, they're gone I think. I'm not too fussed though, I can't stand Rylan anyway and I've never thought Emma was that great. Just depends who they'd be replaced with I suppose.

She's a fan but she also has her career to think about and she's not stupid. X Factor would be a much better deal for her. Even if it is cancelled in a year, she'd benefit from the exposure, as well as making ties with someone like Simon Cowell. I can't seeing anyone passing up on any of that just because they're a fan of BB. She can still watch it and be a fan lol. (Also, who's to say BB won't be axed in a year, it's not performing that strongly.)
