I think that the housemates fifteen minutes of fame period is getting shorter and shorter. Everyone I have spoken to is just not interested in what ex housemates are doing or about to do.
I wonder if advertisers have checked out to see if their sales will go up in they use a particular housemate - be interested to know. The mazazines are full of articles and photos at the moment, but have their sales increased? Will any of them be given presenter jobs - bearing in mind that apart from Brian and Alison (who is not really a presenter) they have been consigned to working on obscure cable channels if they work at all. Should BB be encouraging ex housemates to get back to normal as soon as possible and are they giving them unrealistic ideas as to how much money and fame they are going to get. Money is usually restricted to one or two and fame well it doesnt last. I honestly think that being an ex housemate has lost its appeal to most of the public. We can take them or leave them. Anyone else agree? |

Yes I agree, there does seem to be fewer stories than in previous years. The BB4 housemates did not get much coverage either. I think it is in large part due to the cynicism that seems to exist in the media about reality TV contestants, and their motivations for taking part.
Generally I prefer the Big Brother housemates that decide beforehand that they will not pursue a career in media because this makes for a more real reality show. The show does attract its fair share of wannabes however. Some of the BB5 housemates will probably get some kind of presenting role, albeit low-key, because that was always their intended career path. |

I think as it continues it will probably get less and less. After this year with lots of strong characters I expected to see most of them everywhere.
the only ones I've seen are Michelle and Stuart ![]() ![]() It does seem to have died down rather quickly this time. |
