Default Old age

Seen a documentary the other day classifying old age as 50+. They did drill the point home about 7 times but I just thought it would be interesting to see what other people’s definition of senile/elderly is.

I just feel something important happens at 5-year intervals age-wise from 25 on so that’s why the poll options go up in 5-year waves.

I’d say so. And 50 to 60 = earliest senile period.

45’s bang on middle age.

66 plus...that’s when most people can claim their pension now, depending on their date of birth.
Some people are old at 40 and some people are still young at 70

65 + as thats when you pick up a government pension.

I think old age a couple of hundred years ago would have been around 40 to 45, but not any more

Like, 60-65 imo. Since a lot of people retire, or begin thinking about retiring around that age range.

My dad is 71 and as sprightly as a lot of 45 year olds....my mum died at 65 and that seems so young. I think it depends on the person, their outlook and health.

It does ( and 65 is very young to die, my condolences)

The ex's dad is 88 and still drives, plays golf every week and looks and acts about 60

His aunt lived to 102 and his mum to 98

60’s the youth of old age. Elderly’s applicable a certain point over age 75. In my opinion.

I think the worst thing you can do is retire

people underestimate how much and how important a job is in life

you sit down

you stay down
