Tbh, he doesn't look any different. Just a slimmer version of himself.

Obviously, due to his age, that results in a lot of excess skin. He's just old bless him.

That's the point. He is slimmer and that can be a sign of serious illness. I think Rylan did ask John how he was doing so I think he has had (maybe still has) a serious illness.

I had an uncle lose a lot of weight towards the end of his life. He died of cancer.

You're right, he did. I was truly shocked at how thin and unwell John McCririck looked. I've never liked the guy but it wasn't nice to see.

I was well shocked !! I googled it when Rylan said he had been ill but it doesn't say what with, but read he had been advised to loose weight, but he looks shocking
