All of the cast of Eastenders need to go and visit the Doctors for some antidepressants and some of the need even stronger medication.

I wouldn't call watching a group mentally ill characters living a square entertainment.
Is that all Eastenders is about?

I tuned into the opening scene of an episode and it seemed quite cheery to me.
Lol, if people like it, who am I to question them

The current crop of soaps are all pretty dire but they're cheap and easy to follow.

They have to be they have dulled peoples brains so much over the years that if the plot was complicated they wouldn't be able to follow it.

To turn your mind into mush and kill your own imagination.

EastEnders and Corronation Street will be on till the end of time and I'm not taking the p**s.
Hollyoaks will have more trouble staying on as it has a fickle teen audience but soaps like Corrie and EE have been on for decades and are a part of British culture as well as having millions of loyal fans.
