Default Eamonn to quit GMTV

GMTV host Eamonn Holmes is ready to quit the ITV show for the Beeb.

He is being lured by BBC1 boss Lorraine Heggessey after proving a hit on Hard Spell and The National Lottery Jet Set.

The 45-year-old has hosted GMTV since it began in 1993, but wants to spend more time with his three kids in Belfast. He is also fed up with the 4am starts.

A GMTV insider said: “There are strong rumours that Eamonn will quit when his contract is up this summer. The BBC are keen for him to present more shows.

“GMTV needs to save money on presenters’ salaries but he is still hoping for a better offer.”

GMTV said: “We are currently in contract negotiations with Eamonn.”

I like Eamon and Fiona's on-screen chemistry but do not really like her.

No GMTV without Eamonn - like ...... without ....... (you can put in your own version).

Eamonn can brighten up the dullest morning. He really knows how to tease Fiona without being nasty at all. Who will they get to partner Fiona, but I did hear a rumour that she might be going as well. I think her contract runs out shortly, but then I could be wrong about that
