I'm A Celebrity PR guru Lynne gets a nip 'n' pluck from the ostriches

As the pushy PR guru who inspired the character of Edina Monsoon in Absolutely Fabulous, she's met her fair share of flighty characters.

But none will have given Lynne Franks more trouble than the hungry ostriches she encountered on last night's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

The terrified 59-year-old was pecked repeatedly by the aggressive birds as she tried to complete one of the ITV show's notorious bushtucker trials alongside ex-model Janice Dickinson.

The two women have frequently clashed during the programme, and unfortunately for Franks, it was 52-year-old Dickinson who took charge as the PR adviser was lowered into a pen full of ostriches on a crane seat for the "Nip/Pluck" challenge.

Franks was meant to use her feet to pick up 11 stars on the ground, each one representing a meal for one of the contestants. Sadly for Franks, there were two drawbacks.

Her crane seat was operated by Dickinson, who didn't move her quickly enough to keep her away from her feathered tormentors.

And the overall she was wearing was covered in seed and her seat had buckets of bird food attached, making her too much of a tempting target for the peckish ostriches.

Things started badly as Franks climbed into her seat and Dickinson lowered her straight away, without moving her near to a star.

Franks yelled: "You have lowered me in the wrong place, but never mind, take me straight ahead. Quickly, we have only got 10 minutes Janice, move it now. Will someone ... Janice, please!"

Franks managed to get one star between her feet but then Dickinson sent her flying straight into an ostrich.

Franks was not happy and barked orders about where she wanted Dickinson to take her.

After three minutes they had only one star, the ostriches were having a field day and Franks was roaring at Dickinson.

The ex-model replied: "Lynne, you better stop or else I'll back you right into an ostrich's ass so fast it's going to make your head spin."

They ended up collecting seven stars, and the two women were seen having something of a heart to heart on their way back to camp.

• Meanwhile, irascible chef John Burton Race has admitted he may be forced to sell his award-winning restaurant because of his divorce.

The I'm A Celebrity contestant told his fellow stars that he cannot afford to keep The New Angel in Dartmouth, Devon, after leaving his wife Kim for his mistress.

"I'll probably end up selling my restaurant," the 50-year-old Michelin-starred chef said. "That is a scary place to be because I'm going to be broke."
