'Love rat' Marc Bannerman WON'T return to meet Cerys in the jungle

Love rat Marc Bannerman has gone back on his promise to meet jungle sweetheart Cerys Matthews when she leaves the I'm A Celebrity camp.

Despite his romantic declaration by letter that he would be in Australia to meet the ex-Catatonia singer, the former EastEnders star now WON'T be there to meet her.

According to reports today, Bannerman has turned down ITV's offer to return to Australia and stay in the plush Versace Hotel with the rest of the evicted contestants.

A spokesman for I'm A Celebrity revealed yesterday that Bannerman, 34, is not planning to fly back to Australia to meet Cerys, but instead has recorded a video message that will be played to her when she gets evicted.

The spokesman said: "Bearing in mind the show ends on Friday and the time it takes to fly to Australia, that possibility now seems extremely unlikely."

However she added: "Marc is meant to be filming a short video message for Cerys though.

"When she leaves the jungle, on her eviction, it will be played to her. I have no idea what he will say because he hasn't filmed it yet.

After he was the first person to voted off by the public, the star flew back to Britain to deal with the fall-out of his onscreen flirtations and supposedly talk to his live-in girlfriend of three years, Sarah Matravers, 33.

But at the weekend actress Sarah revealed how she once put her arm through a window to stop a drink-fuelled fight between the two.

And yesterday Sarah packed up and moved out of their north London home after the pair's two-year relationship was left in tatters following his growing closeness with Cerys.

Removal men were spotted at the estranged couple's residence packing her possessions, including a kitchen table, mattress, lampshade and plants into the back of a truck.

Marc's decision is bound to come as a blow to 38-year-old Cerys, who has been telling her jungle campmates how excited she is about seeing him again.

And yesterday Matthews was cautioned by former model Janice Dickinson not to rush into things with the former soap star, and urging mother-of-two Cerys to think of her children first.

She said: "You need someone who wants the package deal. The children have to come first. Go slow."

The three-times divorced mother of two, who claims to have had numerous affairs with Hollywood's great and good including Jack Nicholson and Mick Jagger said she spoke from experience.

She added: "There are guys that, yes, they want it at first, to be with the woman and they love the children and then they push the children out.

"It's happened to me on several occasions. It's the first thing I look for."

Meanwhile, 43-year-old Anna Ryder Richardson who was the sixth person to be voted off I'm A Celebrity told Ant & Dec she had enjoyed her time, despite the camp feeling like a prison.

The former Changing Rooms interior designer said: "The jungle is fantastic. It's kind of a prison. Even though it's a beautiful prison," she said.

She named Cerys and Marc as the people she grew closest to but denied anything physical had happened between the pair.

Cheater breaks Cerys promise

UNGLE love rat Marc Bannerman will break the heart of Cerys Matthews — by running away from a live TV reunion.

The I’m A Celebrity cheat had written a soppy love letter to new flame Cerys promising to fly back out to Oz to be with her when she was evicted.

The singer then appealed to him on air to come back for her — telling the camp the idea of starting a new life with him was “so exciting”.

But ITV insiders last night confirmed Marc has gone back on his word and rejected their offers to fly him back and put him up in the six-star Versace Hotel.

One said: “He doesn’t want to do it — despite what he promised Cerys. It’s going to break her heart as she’s been so looking forward to seeing him again.

“And it’s a real shame for the viewers because they will have wanted to see the emotional reunion.”

Instead Marc, 34, will record a video message to be played to the former Catatonia singer when she is evicted. He is expected to tell her of his feelings towards her and how he hopes to see her when she gets back to the UK.

Marc flew to London on Friday after getting the boot from the jungle and discovering his furious girlfriend Sarah Matravers had dumped him over his romance with divorced mum-of-two Cerys.

Actress Sarah, 33, then alleged he had beaten her up after a drunken night out last February.

Last night, jungle evictee Anna Ryder Richardson revealed how Marc was turned on by Cerys, 38, left.

The Changing Rooms star told how the rats weren’t the only things active in the night as Marc had the hots for the Welsh songbird.

She said a lack of sexual stimulation had started to affect some of the guys — who had been struggling “down below”.

The tiny brunette laughed: “A lot of people said it was quiet . . . er . . . down there. But Cerys mentioned that Marc had not been suffering from that.”

The makeover queen told how close pal Cerys was racked with guilt about snatching Marc from his girlfriend.

But she admitted the singer had told her how she was desperate to start a new life with the former EastEnder.

She said: “Cerys wants him to be here when she gets out. But she feels really guilty that another person was involved and they got hurt. I would hope that after all the pain and hurt this has caused that they get together.”

There could be trouble in paradise for jungle pair Marc Bannerman and Cerys Matthews, as Marc has apparently gone back on his promise to meet Cerys when she leaves the camp.

Marc, 34, who flew back to London to face his actress girlfriend Sarah Matravers after he was booted off the ITV1 reality show, had written a letter to Cerys offering to fly back out to see her.

But an ITV spokeswoman confirmed he had changed his mind, before the romance had even begun: "The last thing we heard is that he's not going back out there. We would have liked him to go out there, but his reasons are personal. He is recording a video message for Cerys."

Meanwhile, it seems Marc's relationship with Sarah is well and truly over, after she was spotted moving out of their north London home on Tuesday, reports the Daily Mirror.

A witness was quoted as saying: "Sarah came out with a burly man who looked like he could be a bodyguard. Then a number of guys started taking stuff out... It looked like the house will be pretty empty after everything got loaded up."

Marc was reported to be lying low with a friend in Essex.
