It looks OK I just dunno how to take it seriously as canon with the inevitable upcoming Xmen reboot within the MCU.

She hates the makeup, it's why she spent most of the last two films without it. I didn't notice how terrible it looked this time around though, it looks like they just sprayed it on and dotted her face a bit. Low budget sci fi TV show from the 90's realness.

I wish they did this when Famke Janssen was Jean Grey! I like Sophie Turner but i prefer Famke as Jean Grey

I mean they sort of already did... it seems to basically have exactly the same plot as Last Stand, just fleshed out a bit more to be entirely based on the Dark Phoenix plot...

It seems like this film is just a do-over of X3, even her Dark Phoenix costume looks like they've just rooted through their closets for Jean's red trenchcoat.

i remember reading that Simon Kinberg regretted the dark phoenix wasn't the primary story for X-Men 3 but it wasn't his choice. They should have done this in the first place and gave Famke Janssen her own movie like they did with Wolverine.

I was planning on seeing this on Monday but I think we'll hold off. It's annoying that Fox has ****ed up this storyline again and pretty much insured that Marvel will have to wait years to attempt it properly.

I reckon Singer would've done justice to the Dark Phoenix storyline had he directed The Last Stand.
