Rhydian hotter than Leona?

X Factor hot favourite Rhydian has had more punters back him than Leona Lewis did at the same time last year.

The Welsh opera singer is now a 1/3 shot to win the £1 million recording contract, whilst 2006 winner Leona was on odds of 1/2 12 months ago.


Ladbrokes spokesman, Nick Weinberg, said: "The field was undoubtedly stronger a year ago. Rhydian's got talent but also benefits from the weakness of his rivals."

Meanwhile, it looks like the luck may finally have run out for girl band Hope, who are the red-hot 4/7 favourites to be evicted on Saturday's ITV talent show.

Nick added: "It'll be a miracle if the girls survive. Even if they do they'll just be putting off the inevitable."

And it seems like there's a budding romance between under-25 group contestant Leon Jackson and Hope's Emily Biggs.

An X Factor spokeswoman revealed the pair had been getting close, saying: "The pair enjoy a few romantic meals for two this week... watch this space!"

However, Rydian doesn't even comes close to Leona, and I don't think he will do as well either, but good luck to the guy, I want him or Niki to win.

To be fair, that's only because he has no competition in terms of talent; the others are good, but he's amazing.

Exactly Shaun. I don't think the odds mean all that much, the bookies are very rarely right and you can only rely on odds after the performances up to a point. They're more likely to be right from now on, but I don't think anything they say can be taken as gospel.

I actually don't think they will either, because Same Difference and Leon have picked very risky songs and I get the impression it could be the two of them in the bottom two in a "shock twist."

I'd love it if Hope were announced as first through. Can you imagine Niki, Rhydian, Leon and Same Difference's reactions?

If Hope do get through tonight I will be very shocked. I want them to anyway, as I hope Leon goes tonight, I can't watch and listen to him for another week lol.

If Rhydian doesn't win it will be a travesty. I think he will do amazingly well out of this show, in more avenues than Leona, he'll be able to do big West End shows because he has amazing stage presence.

Hope must go tonight because it's becoming a joke now. I think Rhydian, Same Difference and Niki will make the final three.
