LEON RATTLES RHYDIAN

ENSION between X Factor rivals Rhydian Roberts and Leon Jackson rose so high they had to be kept apart before last night’s semi-final.

Hot favourite Rhydian got more and more rattled that Leon could be catching him up in the race for the ITV1 show crown.

An insider confided: “Rhydian got used to being the clear favourite and it seemed he didn’t like having to share the limelight.

“He was saying that he thought Leon was too weak to win.

“The two were very frosty with each other for seven days or so.

“Clearly, they can’t stand each other and it was showing.”

Welshman Rhydian, 24, told the Daily Star Sunday the public should vote for his singing skill rather than for the likeability of the 19-year-old Scot.

He said he could stand the thought of losing to duo Same Difference or Brummie mum Nikki – but not to Leon.

And he added: “I know the weaknesses of the other contestants and Leon just doesn’t have the stage presence I do. He’s very young and inexperienced and there is no way I could come fourth to him.

“To the others maybe, not to him.”

Leon, on the other hand, believes he’s the greatest natural talent himself.

He said: “I am the only one here who hasn’t had any formal training.

“I only sang for the first time about six months ago because I was shy.

“Everyone else here has been to stage school or had training.

“Rhydian has been singing professionally for years and years.

“I’ve had to raise my game on my own.

“I’m just as good as Rhydian now and he has to consider the possibility of losing to me.”

Meanwhile, Same Difference brother and sister Sean and Sarah Smith are concentrating on the positive.

Sean revealed: “We’ve had two letters from people who are dealing with some really horrible things in their lives and who say we’ve helped them – that our happy performances have uplifted them and given them inspiration.”

also people who heard him at wembley (in front of thousands!!) said he was amazing live and they were going to vote leon.

Rydian is a joke... fair enough he's a good singer but thats not what is important.. he hasnt got the x factor.. there is only a tiny amount of people of people who like opera.. and every song he sings he ruins by turning it in to opera... he sucks !!! end of story

I find that really surprising, and to be honest don't believe it. The two of them seem to have a lot of support for each other and I don't see why it should be otherwise. Even if people state that what they're doing is simply a show for the cameras, I don't necessarily think that's true simply because they're both really different. They can both carve a niche for themselves in the market if they choose to; unique ones at that. Furthermore, having the same mentor and being together for the most part probably means they're a lot closer overall than people let on.

What? How is being a good singer not imporant? It's singing constents, therefore he has the best singing voice so for that he should win, and IMO he does have the X Factor. Rydian may not do as well as Leona Lewis, but he has more talent then Leon, who sings out of tune.

And Leon has got the "X Factor"? I dont think so. Leon ruined 2 songs last night.

Rhydian proved differently last night. And as a matter of fact, I see Rhydian is the clear favourite to win, so if he only sings opera, a LOT of people must like opera.
Which you will see next Saturday when Rhydian wins.

he has had 5 years of classical training before he started. and he sings out of tune often.. but it dosent matter anyway. since leon has reached the finals and he is a good singer he will probably be picked up by a record company and become famous anyway...

fyi leon had much less time to prepare for yesterdays performance because he had to prepare for wembley !!!

Leon wont do as well as Leona Lewis. A lot of people out there don't like him. Plus he has zero personality and he really is very, very average. Not to mention he does sing out of tune.

Leon is dull and boring. Rhydian is a born entertainer! If Rhydian wins he will be on the classical side of music and he will always be famous IMO. Leon will be like Gareth Gates, famous for a few months and then he will just fade away!

Ray last year was Leon age, and he had personality, could entertain. So it has nothing to do with age. Leon has zero stage presence, zero personality. He sings out of tune, and he can't dance either. MB he is not and never will be.

But it's not a singing contest, think of how many talented singers in the past series, as well as this one, have been voted out in favour of someone who just happens to be good looking. I'm referring to, for example, Hope. They are all good singers, but I would never have said Hope were better than Beverley, even though it went to deadlock it shows that the public aren't exactly voting for singing talents. I'd say at least a third of the X Factor is based around marketability.

I agree. Opera is one of those things where you can appreciate that those who sing opera are very talented - but you find it stupidly boring and you'd rather be filing your own toes off instead of having to sit through 2 hours of it.

Leon is someone who has no Charisma and is fairly dull where-as Rhydian oozes charisma, and is pretty fawt aswell, plus Rhydian can sing songs without putting me to sleep, i love listening to him singing.

I don't like Opera, but the guy can sing, and I see this as a singing comp, therefore Rydian should win.

In away, Rydian has made me like some of the music he sings, and I would listen to some of his music.
