This is an odd comment to make.

Who said you have to introduce yourself as a woman or cis woman? The term woman already exists and you never took issue with that one?

I know, if people actually read my OP they'll see i'm not arsed if people wanna call me cis, whatever who cares. I made this thread wanting to explore how some of the other terms can legitimately work, like genderfluid for example. But of course people will jump on the smallest thing and see it as someone 'snowflaking' or 'playing the victim'..Seriously call me cis all you like, it ha no baring whatsoever.

can you find the comment(s) as to where she refers to you as "cis", though? She used it a few times, yes, but never to specifically refer to you

And can you explain how it was "spat with venom"?

A 3 letter word that's completely pointless and just further adds to labelling which is odd since so many profess to be so against any kind of labelling these days.

I was born a woman and don't see the need to now describe myself in any way as a 'cis' woman. I'm a woman end of.

lol no-one takes stuff like "genderfluid" seriously, it's fine.

But as others have said, cis is a descriptor. Women and transwomen are different, and in some cases people will only be referring to one of these - "cis women's issues" are different to "transwomen's issues", while "women's issues" can refer to both.

you're right!! you don't need to. but it's just an shorter way to say "born a woman". if you don't wanna call yourself "cis" that's chill it's just a new-coined term that some people don't mind being called

And that's great that you can see it both ways and are fine with that, if only others thought the same way.

tbf i refer to (some of) Oliver's point - i don't really see people 'forcing' cis as a label. just as a descriptor. like i don't really see anyone 'forcing' the label of 'cis' on people and it's only really brought up to compare and contrast issues between people who are trans and people who were born in the body they're comfortable with. i don't actively see people walking around saying "so you're a cis man?" or the whatnot. but my experience isn't universal

on the contrary i've seen some people (who would probably be against that notion) tell bisexual people that they're either "gay" or "straight" and can't be both - trying to force a label which doesn't correlate to their identity. Point being, it's a shame that people can't respect labels no matter the context or how unheard of the label is

Oh wow you're really digging aren't you lol. No i just wonder how something like gender fluid (which is pretty ridiculous imo) could even work in the real world?

I know stuff like that words in the uni/colleges/safe spaces bubble, but is far from practical in the real word, and is open to so many people abusing genderfluid 'ness;

digging? how?

surely you should lead with questions such as "how would the term 'gender fluid' work in the real world?" rather than just saying "some terms" are complete overkill. I genuinely don't understand your OP. You say you're called cis, you looked it up, and found some terms which are 'perfectly reasonable' and some which are 'complete overkill'. how is anyone meant to understand what you created the thread for if that's your lead

Well because the whole being labelled cis thing is what sparked my curiosity, i gave my thread some back story as to why i created the thread. I gave some context, i thought some might appreciate that more, apologies if you didn't

I do appreciate the context.

But where is the purpose in the OP? That is what I was asking, apologies if that wasn't clear
