Default Your decade in review.

So, seeing as next week we will be entering the Twenty Twenties (can't believe it), I thought it could be interesting for us to take some reflection and look back over the past ten years on a personal level and summarise what's gone down for each of us since 2010.

Over the past decade (Jan 2010 - Dec 2019):

1. What big life events have happened for you? - Both good and bad (births/marriages/deaths etc).
2. What big achievements have you accomplished? - Relating to education/work/family/personal to you.
3. Has life turned out how you'd thought it would do from 2010?
4. Anything you would/could go back and change or do differently, wish you had/hadn't done?
5. If you could go back, what advice would you give yourself regarding the future?
6. Your hopes/aspirations/goals for the next decade?

Will have a good think about mine and post later.

1 Big Events of the last decade. My mum passing away in 2014 was a nightmare. I still miss her so much. My son turning 21 was a joyous occasion. We had a lovely meal and drinks to celebrate. Also I met my boyfriend Karl 4 years ago (nearly 4 years to be more precise).

2. No big achievements

3. Has life turned out how I thought it would. An emphatic no to this. I am very lucky and blessed.

4. No regrets.

5. Spend more time with my mum in the last weeks.

6. I don't know. I'll see where life takes me.

Xx

1. What big life events have happened for you?-

I got married. Have 2 kids and 1 on the way.
Bad parts? Losing a few loved ones along the way

2. What big achievements have you accomplished?

Mainly my kids

3. Has life turned out how you'd thought it would do from 2010?

No not a chance. But its worked out better than i thought

4. Anything you would/could go back and change or do differently, wish you had/hadn't done?

Not really no. I lost a few best friends as we struggled to keep in touch thats a regret as when we do contact things arent the same

5. If you could go back, what advice would you give yourself regarding the future?

Enjoy each day as it comes instead of trying to get to the next chapter. Dont have such a gloomy outlook as there is a lot of lovely things happening around you

6. Your hopes/aspirations/goals for the next decade?

Buy a new car, pay off all my debts, buy my own house

Will have a good think about mine and post later.
1. My Nephew was born in 2012.
2. I know some basic information on Henry VIII over the last year which I didn't think would be possible.
3. Tbh not really, some things have been good and other things not so good. I guess that's life, but it obviously never feels very good when the bad **** happens.
4. I wish I'd taken education more seriously when I was at School as it opens up more opportunities than what I could possibly achieve.
5. Save money and move to Republic Of Ireland.
6. I don't know tbh. I'd probably like to win a **** ton of money so I could do things like buy Sports Teams, buy a fancy house for myself and the rest of the family, and help out Charities, and of course start up my own Streaming Service similar to Netflix.

Basically with Question 6 buying a fancy house, and help out Charities are the most realistic aspirations over the next decade.

1. What big life events have happened for you?
On a not so good level, my health has gone downhill.
Lost a sister, a brother and a sister-in-law.
The upside of the last decade is both my kids settling down in happy relationships.

2. What big achievements have you accomplished?
Nothing much really.
Managed to save enough so hubby could retire early.
Biggest change has been moving house, not sure that’s an achievement though.

3. Has life turned out how you'd thought it would do from 2010?
Hell no.
Plans and life had to change due to health issues.

4. Anything you would/could go back and change or do differently, wish you had/hadn't done?
No.
Regrets are pointless, look to the future, not the past.

5. If you could go back, what advice would you give yourself regarding the future?
Just take life in your stride and be happy with what you have.

6. Your hopes/aspirations/goals for the next decade?
My hopes are all for the kids really.
The biggest goal is getting this bungalow renovated before I croak.

It sounds like you've had some tough times over the last few years Smudgie which is a shame to hear.

You have a great attitude though.

1. What big life events have happened for you? - Both good and bad (births/marriages/deaths etc).
My grandad and two uncles died.
My sister got married <3
My uncle had two kids

My dad had a cardiac arrest (survived) which uncovered a genetic heart disorder that it turns out nearly everyone in my family has and took my uncle, Brugada syndrome. Also a nerve disorder I've had since birth has been progressively kicking my ass...

2. What big achievements have you accomplished? - Relating to education/work/family/personal to you.
I was pissing around in retail for a while, then I went to university and took Primary Education, now I work in a behaviour unit
Recently had a children's book published.

3. Has life turned out how you'd thought it would do from 2010?
Sort of. Working in education was always a "some day" thing, but I never really thought about when or how.

4. Anything you would/could go back and change or do differently, wish you had/hadn't done?
Sounds awful but not break up with my ex when I did, because he got a car shortly after and would have driven me to uni and placements xD

5. If you could go back, what advice would you give yourself regarding the future?
Tell uncle to take the Ajmaline challenge (not as fun as it sounds!) so Brugada would be uncovered sooner, and we'd have less heartache in the family.

6. Your hopes/aspirations/goals for the next decade?
Nothing much, my conditions will eventually make it impossible to carry on working in my chosen field, and I've been off sick recently due to a nasty turn in them (internal tumour) but I'll be back after the Christmas break, and gonna keep on working for as long as I can! I'm only in my twenties so it'd suck if the line was cut before the end of the next decade at least...
Oh, and maybe become a famous children's author haha
