His legal team is being led by Rudy now, that tells you where things are

The basic problem that a lawyer has is that they are under oath in court and if they lie they will be disbarred. So there have been multiple instances where the judge has asked the direct question ... do you have any evidence of fraud etc, and the lawyers have to say no and the case is thrown out.

The whole charade is basically to provide Trump with time to say he is taking court action and peddle lies

A difference of five million is pretty decisive. Wasn't it also like four percent of the vote separating them?

The level of fraud it would take to pull that off, there's no way it'd be kept quiet. At best there might have been individual people somehow voting twice etc, but that'd be on both sides, and not nearly enough to make a gap that big.

If it looked like Biden had magically got just the right amount of votes to push him over the winning line while still being almost 50/50 I could see it, but Biden utterly streamrolled Trump.

Not that I think this is being done from a moral stance; I think at this point, they know that if they keep letting outright false claims be shared around on Twitter, when they have a large potential to cause unrest and violence, they're going to end up facing external restrictions from law enforcement agencies and governments on how they operate. They'd understandably rather get on top of it in-house so that isn't necessary.

The candidates weren't kicking and screaming and thrashing their hands around during that time because there was no need... no need at all when it's a viable legal challenge... the public doesn't need to know the details beyond "there is a legal challenge" until there's an outcome. That is, if it's an actual legal challenge, and not a PR campaign .

Trumps lawyers aren't abandoning him because of pressure, but because lying in court isn't a plan for any lawyer that wants to carry on having a career post Trump.
