probly and the fact people feel sorry for him. him bein a unnattractive guy was a running joke through the series bbbm hosts joked about it hollyoak skanks ignored him people took piss out of his t shirt in the pool cause he chubby, so obviously he got the pity vote.

off intelligence, good housemate and niceness alone, no way he copuld beat amy in that contest. hed always come second to her but pity vote and scotch vote helped him win so ye i agree.

But dont forget they had 5 people too vote for, spreading out the votes, not too only one housemate.

Maybe, maybe not. I'm sure most scots dont just vote to make sure one of their own wins but then again Leon won the X-Factor.

I'm sorry to John fans, other that the first three days, what did John do or what did we see John do? Amy was the ultimate favourite to win, I've never seen so much support in someone, and they don't even come second, clear me up on this one... Please...

Its not a Nationality Contest, It was about housemates winning a competition. My Favourite was Amy, and She was English, But if i said because she wasnt Scottish i wouldnt vote her. That would be silly, And if i said Oh Yay John is Scottish, I will vote him. That wasnt the case.

Also England Has about 10 x more population that Scotland, So this "They had five people to choose from" nonsense is a load of poop.

John Won - Fair and Square. Although i wish he had not, i dont think it was ALL the scottish voters. There were English People that liked him you know.

Of course scottish people voted for him, but i REALLY doubt that that is why he won. he got a very high percentage of the votes for there being 6 of them in there so he won fai=r and square. and it annoys me when people say that he wouldnt have won if he'd not won the free pass to the final. if that were true thenh he would have been one of the first to go on monday, and as it was voting to WIN thenh there must be a load of peole out there who love him. I was very sad that Amy didnt win but im over it.

I went out of my way not to vote for John. He was the least likely housemate to win imo, but it just goes to show how wrong we can be on the finale night

It played a part I'm sure, but it is hard to say how big a part. He probably got the sympathy vote aswell, like Leon.

Sympathy Vote? Because he is Scottish? I dont think so!

Why when someone Scottish Wins, there is always a excuse as if they dont deserve it.

Its rediculous and childish.

Sympathy vote because he is overweight and was ignored by the McQueen girls in the dating task not because he was Scottish. He may have got BOTH the Sympathy vote and the Scot vote, which are two separate things.

Why is it all ulterior motives with some people?! You aren't allowed to be fat and win anything in this country without people shouting “it must be because of sympathy”!!

I just think John won because he was probably one of the nicest and most genuine people in there but I’m sure the conspiracies will continue for some time yet

Yes, but the English don't have the deluded impression that they're inferior to the other nations of the United Kingdom, and don't rally around together during reality TV competitions and use some false impression of "patriotism" to vote for their own kind, do they?
