Default £1.4bn over three years For UK Schools

That's all they can afford.

[The BBC has learned a much bigger
and more ambitious plan costing just
over £10bn was still under discussion between
government departments as recently as
last week but this was rejected by the Treasury. ]

Sir Kevin Collins
Conservative Education TSAR

Has Now Resigned

[Boris Johnson's COVID catch-up tsar has resigned
after saying the government failed to provide enough money
to fund a schools recovery plan.

In a letter to the prime minister, Sir Kevan Collins
said: "I do not believe it will be possible to deliver a
successful recovery without significantly greater
support than the government has, to date, indicated
it intends to provide."]

I'm sure the government has money to dish out on their own bonuses and other pointless rubbish, but all they can manage is a pittance for schools...

Default £1.4bn over three years For UK Schools

The scary thing is that the majority of our teenagers really don’t want to do any work and most certainly don’t appreciate being back in school ..

They’ve had the time of their life at home when all the schools were closed .

Honestly... two of the absolute cornerstones of civilisation - education and healthcare - and Tories don't want to spend on either. It's ridiculous.

Rishi wouldn't loosen the purse strings

I'm torn on this as its online tutoring so many who most need it wont turn up, they need to make it compulsory or in a school setting or something

you can't take spending on 1 area in isolation. The government have piled money into the furlow scheme etc, so comparing it to the netherlands on 1 area isn't appropriate
