this whole thing is completely pointless. What is an enquiry going to do? At most its going to say some government workers didn't adhere to the spirit of lockdown rules 1 year ago

Yes, its unfortunate if true, it's hypocritical, but Boris can't control behaviour of individuals in government any more than he can control you or me

The thing I find really offensive is Johnson appoints Case to investigate the issues, Case KNOWS he had his own breaking the rules party.
Yet accepted the request to investigate them.
What hypocrisy.

Plus the truth should be known.
People couldn't travel from one part of the Country to another to be with their partners even..
Work lunches and parties were not allowed.

People were fined at least for breaking those rules.
It's amazing anyone thinks because these are Cons and they support the Con party..
That this should just be now overlooked.

No, it shouldn't, it's obscene to think of the privileged enjoying usual activities around Christmas when other lesser mortals, couldn't be at loved ones sides as they died and then NOT even be at their funerals.

Honestly hard-line Cons will do or say anything to protect the Cons even in that scenario.
Really shameful in my view, sorry.

Well I hope she is.
For the cover up attempts and deceit again on this issue.

It's starting to stink to high heaven.

it's not the privileged though joey, this is just standard normal people having small celebrations at christmas, yeah they shouldnt have done it .... but a year on, what actions are going to be taken, what lessons are to be learned? None. People either stick to rules or they don't

So if anyone does anything wrong a year ago, should that mean nothings done after that time.
If someone is assaulted a year ago and it only comes to light a year later.
That shouldn't matter and nothing be done .

Of course some of them are privileged individuals..
Any elected prospective election candidates are privileged in seeking the trust of voters.

One of these was Bailey who was to seek the high office of Mayor of London, who he was backed by the full might of the Con party..he knew about his!!!

Prince Minister's advisors too, that's a privileged position too.

In the current party of government's headquarters too.
Another privileged, maybe even thought protective setting..

Ordinary people have been fined, in fact are STILL yet going through the courts, since little has been done in the courts due to the pandemic.

Yet you think these should get away scot free.
No sincere apologies that matter, no fines and nothing done because a year has passed.
Just because it's the Cons??

They should be getting what everyone else is, who has been caught out breaking the rules laid down by the government.
Plus I'd be saying that no matter the people or party.

However it is THIS government and Johnson who dictated these particular laws!!
No social gatherings, no work lunches, no parties.

It must then never be so, that it can be even possible to erase judgement and any possible punishment for wrongdoing.
Leaving one rule for the lawmakers, and another for those they dictate the laws to.
Even.moreso just because time has passed.

The lesson that should be learned too is that no matter who you are, if you break the rules laid down, that you CANNOT get away with it.
That you face the same as what the others caught out have gone through.
Immaterial of time passing, with even worse too in this case, rule breaking tried to be concealed by blatant DECEIT.

No, not for me, NO WAY.

but they werent caught joey, else they would have been fined at the time. Was jeremy corbyn fined when a photo appeared of him at a dinner party with loads of people, no he wasn't. That's not how it works

The police have to witness a breach happening for a fine to be given out. This is all complete nonsenses at this point

No the Police don't.
The police are not present at crimes being committed, they generally appear later AFTER the crimes are committed.
In time later too, when new facts and evidence or statements are produced.

Corbyn should have been in bother for anything he did wrong too, absolutely.
I'd never blindly overlook Labour connected rule breaking as Cons do for the Cons.

The Police cannot be everywhere..
The Police have been told of breaches of ordinary people from neighbours.
Often later after the event too.

If you're saying the police have to only be present at breaches of laws and rules to do anything..
Then crime would escalate to immeasurable heights in that case.

What we have is a PM who had nothing to lose himself as he wasn't at all of these alleged breaches.
Although alleged I use loosely as it's pretty clear they took place to near all.
Except the hardliners who support the Cons come what may.

Yet he now looks party to trying to sidestep and conceal the wrong these breaches were.
While being happy to see more ordinary citizens fined and even hauled through the courts, still up to a year since their rule breaking.

Defend the indefensible all you wish to bots, I never will.
Because if I were to defend the indefensible now, I'd have no right at all to condemn anyone, high or low, who may break rules laid down by government now.

Culture Secretary Nadine Dorries has been kicked out of a Conservative WhatsApp group after urging MPs to show the prime minister "a bit of loyalty".

Messages shot around the "Clean Global Brexit" group - made up of over 100 Tory MPs - following the resignation of Brexit Minister Lord Frost on Saturday.

After claims his exit was a "disaster" and a "hammer blow" for Boris Johnson, Ms Dorries called the PM "a hero".

But former minister Steve Baker removed her, saying: "Enough is enough."

The table nearest to the camera is Boris, Dominic Cummings (left) and what looks like, based on the hair, could be Allegra Stratton holding a dog/cat? Man with glasses and arms in the air I don’t recognise.

Unbelievable.
