The Market Place
can be Nasty. ![]() [Furious residents of some of Britain's most picturesque seaside towns have slammed wealthy Londoners for snapping up second homes in the area during the pandemic and pricing them out of the housing market. Covid lockdowns and the rise of flexible working saw a surge of Londoners travelling outside of the capital, spending a record £54.9bn on properties outside the city last year - the highest value on record by far. I live in semi-rural North Wales and honestly the little villages around here are about 75% townies (mainly London/Birmingham). Last I heard they were complaining because their kids were struggling in the predominantly Welsh language schools here - what do they expect? ![]() Last edited by LaLaLand; 16-04-2022 at 01:14 PM. |
