The Azovstal metal works in Mariupol has come under renewed attack from Russian soldiers, according to an adviser to Ukraine's President Zelensky.

Oleksiy Arestovych said in a video that Moscow had resumed its air strikes and efforts to storm the vast industrial complex, which represents the last holdout of Ukrainian resistance in the embattled port city.

I have learned in my life that there are some people who are so big mean nasty and well connected that they are above the law. The police know this, but will not admit it. With these people you can only acquiesce. Standing up to them is a big mistake, as they can take you down, without blinking and make an example of you. An unpleasant truth to those who always insist "You should stand up to bullies" - It is not always possible, and they do win.

Putin, with his KGB training and contacts and access to nuclear weapons is one such person. The trouble is, it seems political suicide to acknowledge that unpleasant truth.
