self-oscillating

After 70 years on the throne, we have become accustomed to seeing the Queen's portrait, profile and coat of arms across everyday objects such as coins and cereal boxes.
All 29 billion coins in circulation in the UK have the Queen's head on them. The Royal Mint won't say how or when it will start issuing coins with King Charles III's head on them, but it's likely that the Queen's coins will remain in circulation for many years, and that the process to replace them will be a gradual one. Since 1967, all stamps issued by the Royal Mail have featured an embossed silhouette of the side profile of Queen Elizabeth II. Royal Mail will now stop producing Queen Elizabeth II stamps and will begin the process to create new ones. The Royal seal is a frequent sight on items such as tomato ketchup and perfume - and for the last century or so the monarch, their consort and heir have issued their own warrants. When a grantor dies, any Royal Warrants they issued become void and the company has two years to stop using the Royal Arms. Regarding passports, they will still be valid, but new ones will have wording updated to His Majesty. |

I tuned into BBC1 last night - first time in a very long time, and I was impressed with Hugh Edwards and other guests presentation.
That cannot be said for Talk TV, which I briefly looked at. I thought I was watching a horror film. I THINK it was Sharon Osbourne being interviewed by Piers Morgan. But I think it was Sharon Osbourne. Her face looked awful. Too much plastic surgery made her look like she was melting. I think it was her. The only clue: photo of Ozzy in her background. |

KEVIN Bridges has pressed ahead with a run of shows in Glasgow despite many
events being cancelled in the wake of the Queen's death, joking "she won't be the only old woman who is going to die this winter". The Clydebank comic made the comments at a performance hours after the 96- year-old's death was announced yesterday, at a gig he described as "the only ****ing show in Britain going ahead this evening". Bridges joked he was wearing his trademark black suit "in tribute" to the late monarch, and said it was probably "the last show before we go back into lockdown". |

I was a bit shocked the lottery draws weren't cancelled last night.
It seemed to me to be a bit inappropriate to have a spot of gambling after the Queen just died. |
