Italy's new leader, Giorgia Meloni, has used her maiden speech to MPs to stress
her aim to halt migrant boats crossing the Mediterranean.

"We must stop illegal departures and human trafficking," she said, repeating a
campaign pledge to stop boats heading to Italy from North Africa.

For years Italy has been a hub for irregular migrants heading for Europe.

More than 77,000 have made the highly dangerous crossing to Italy this year,
putting pressure on local communities.

Failure to do anything about the flood of illegals is what enables the "far right", being the only ones who act as if they're going tondo anything about it.

Though Italy and Greece should be given more support, Europe wouldn’t be facing the migrant crisis at such a scale if the boats were turned back in the Med.

rescue boat where they were being held after
being refused permission to disembark in Italy,
the BBC has been told.

The three were among about 250 migrants
refused permission to disembark after
officials deemed them "healthy".

They were rescued by police,
but it is unclear what will happen
to them next.

Their bid to reach the shore came as
Rome repeated its vow to halt migrant boats

these migrants have good reasons for fleeing their countries, from conflicts/wars (same as now with ukrainian refugees, s**t also been going on for a whole lot longer in nations such as Sudan, Somalia, Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq, Chad)



and if these so called ''politicians'' look the other way and say no, then yeah you are to me a fascist, nationalist, and to accuse us of being ruled by reptiles (Icke, Baudet) well listening to that makes me lose a braincell or two to that amount of dumb nonsense
