7.55pm - Davina: 'Spend the last 5 minutes of your summer carefully'

8.00pm - Davina gives us her infamous launch opening line standing infront of the doors. The titles roll.

8.01pm - Davina standing where the black cars pull up and walks to her platform past the crowd dissing the biggest rumours.

8.02pm - A clip showing the History of Big Brother UK is shown on the large TV. Featuring all the normal series/celeb series/CH

8.06pm - Davina talks a little about the open auditions. A clip of all the weird and funny auditions is shown mixed up with facts. The clip finishes with teaser shots of some of the new housemates.

8.10pm - Clip finishes and Davina appears inside the house on the screen. She's sitting on the stairs into the house. She gets up and begins the tour around the house. Starting in the Main area, and going around the house giving away random facts and maybe announcing a few secrets. She finished waiting to get to the Diary room, in which traditionally she isn't shown until the first time any other veiwer would get to see it. The house designer is in the Diary room and she asks him a few questions about the house. She asks if we want some housemates. The first ad break.

8.20pm - Davina standing ontop of the exterior staircase, annouces the first housemate. A housemates VT is played, showing their audtition and usual VT clips with a small insight into their daily life. This continues for each housemate.

9. 35pm - After all the housemates are in, Davina is sitting in the Diary room. She remind us not to miss Big Brothers Big Mouth in half an hour on E4, with continuous live coverage straight after that for the rest of the night (As usual after a launch)

9.36pm - Live coverage until 9.45pm. The spilt screen titles begin to roll.

9.45pm - Off air.

Duration 7.55pm - 9.45pm (2hrs 40mins)

Davina: "Thought you knew Big Brother? Think again."

(Titles)

After the title sequence, Davina explains how this year's Big Brother is very different to previous year's. She explains how the audition process is far more vigorous and wannabes who think this is an easy platform to fame and fortune are mistaken. Big Brother is back and more evil than ever.

Housemates are now free to discuss nominations and each housemate has their own "personal prize fund" as well as there being an overall winner's prize fund. Housemates can earn money to add to their individual prize funds by completing secret missions set by Big Brother. The public can vote for free on the Big Brother website regarding the details of the secret missions similarly to America's Player on Big Brother USA. This may include flirting with a certain housemate or stealing another housemate's makeup etc. Housemates will also receive money for surviving evictions if they are up. If a housemate voluntarily walks, they will forefeit their individual prize fund. This will hopefully discourage people from walking.

As well as earning money, housemates will lose money for sleeping during the day, tampering or breaking equipment (including microphones) and for generally breaking rules. Certain tasks will also have a risk/reward scheme where housemates can bet money from their pirize funds.

(Davina tours the house)

12 housemates will enter on launch night - 6 males and 6 females.

Davina: "So, the housemates are all in. They can now relax, settle in and get to know eachother - can't they?"

(Davina hands over to Big Brother)

Big Brother instructs all housemates to sit around the dining table.

Big Brother: "Sitting around this table is a spy. This spy is an actor or actress who has been assigned a secret mission by Big Brother, before entering the Big Brother house. Their secret mission is to remain undetected by their fellow housemates. They have been briefed by Big Brother and already knew your names, ages, occupations and history before entering the Big Brother house. Housemates, it is your mission to uncover this spy. Next week, you will be asked to unaminously decide on the housemate you think is the secret spy. If you sucessfully discover the spy, that person will automatically be evicted from the Big Brother house. If you are unsucessfull the spy will remain in the house, eligible to win, and you will never know who that person is. If housemates fail to uncover the spy, all housemates will face eviction next week. The only housemate who will not face the public vote will be the spy, however you will not know who that housemate is. Remember, trust no one."

(Camera returns to Davina)

Davina: "So, there is a spy living in the Big Brother house. Well, that's what they think. What the housemates don't know is that Big Brother is a very good liar. There is no spy. But shhh, the housemates don't need to know that. So, that means whoever the housemates pick as who they think is the spy, they will be wrong. All housemates will definitely face eviction next week. Therefore they will believe that the 'spy' will live amongst them undetected for the rest of the series. Brilliant."

Davina then opens the phonelines in a "TO SAVE" public vote.

9:30 - It Starts - Davina does her opening line and the titles start, at the end of the titles instead of going straight to Davina there is a clip that goes thought each series
9:40 - Clip end and we see Davina in the house - House Tour Starts
9:50 - Housemates 1-12 Enter
10:30 - We see Davina in a new house - then we are notify that there is a 2 minute text vote were you vote the housemate you want to be fake evicted.
10:30 - Davina Give a house tour of the new house
10:40 - text lines have been counted and a housemate is fake evicted
10:50 - Davina Say Goodbye and it cut to live streaming from the house
10:51 - Hot and Steamy music starts to play and housemate start to dance provocatively unaware that the fake evicted housemate is watching them setting the scene for this years Big Brother

For a start, thats her final ad break line. The show itself starts at 8.00pm

I was thinking of a launch with a flexible, prime time and non clashing slot, but at the same time not being rushed. Anyway, the first housemate only goes in at 8.20 and the show finishes at 9.40. That gives 40 mins of virtually non censored material. I'm sure nothing that would have to be blocked out would happen in the first night lol. If I can remember, also a few launches have started at 8pm (Thats 5 mins after mine)

If i could chose and ideal time it would be 10 (like BB5) but i would want the lauch to finish after 11:30 so im hoping for 9:30

titles roll, which are amazing, suggesting physcopathy and manic, malicd and evil

hello again. this year things have changed. lets go on a tour of the houses, oh sorry, house. (she cackles and descends down the stairs into hell (big brother house). everything is dark, there is a single light in the corner, coming from a door which is slightly ajar. davina walks to the door where inside there is a house with a black and white them. very modern and alot of straight lines. just four rooms. a main living kitchen area, a very big bedroom, a bathroom and a diary room with very special walls. the walls appear to be black / grey. there is a fingerprint panel in the corner, which, when activated, causes the diary room walls to turn completelu transparent. by the way such a thing exists.

the beds are all single, hanging from the walls by steel rope. in the dead centre of the bed there is a large lcd tv, lying in the floor. this can be walked on.

next is the bathroom. a roll top bath sits in the centre, a shower tucked away in the corner. there is no visible toilet. it is seperate from the bathroom.

in the main living room there is a large square couch, black leather. dotted around the place are modern industrial touches, giving a very cold feeling. there is a steel chaise lang, much like a phyciatrists chair... in the same area is a massive kitchen with island. black granite surfaces are white complemented by lighting.

the garden is all gravel, with an inset swimming pool. a large steel fountain sits central.

having guided us around the house, davina goes back out into where she started, into the dark black room. this room is never illuminated. neither the viewer nor the housemates can see where they are going, and are only guided to the house by the light in the corner. on the floor is a covering of slightly illuminated water, but this still doesnt allow anyone to see what is in the room. voices are audable, shouting and whispering. as the housemates arrive, they enter this dark room. the voices start shouting at them, and people start runnin g towards them, but they cant see where from dur to the darkness. the people are only just restrained by a chain attached to their foot, keeping them back.

this is meant to spook the housemates. the lcd floor of the bedroom shows rhe night vision view of the dark room. the people inside the dark room are actors. on one eviction night, the dark room is completely flooded, and big brother tells the housemates to get into the garden. the whole house is completely destroyed, leaving the housemates completely frightened, believeing that they will have to leave. a roof descends over the garden, leaveing them once again in complete darkness. the glass walls of the living room appear to be cracking under the weight of the water. a person appears at the window, bainging on ttge door, apparently begging the housemates to let him out. they obivously cant. he leaves the water, wading through it.

most likely the housemates will be crying, waiting for rescue. a emergency door is opened, and they run towards their apparent safety. they are taken to a hostal and led to believe that the whole BB house with all their belongings is destroyed. more to their concern is the person they saw in the window. a week of living in the basic hostel drives them mad, but at the end they are taken back to a seemingly wrecked BB house and told to live there.

they are all forced to live in the dark room, and at last when it is illuminated, it is plastered with pictures of dead bodies, morgues, cemeterys and other horrific images. by this point they are well and truly spooked. davina appears to them, and tells them it was all fake, and they are allowed back into the house to resume their BB carrier.

the whole point of this is to test their physcological strength. a new housemates joins, the person from the window who had seemingly drowned!! seems very farfetched but if it is done right, then it will scare the life out of them. it would be one hell of a week!!

8:45pm - Davina: "You have 15 minutes to say goodbye to your summer, big brother's coming to get you!"
8:55pm - Next countdown ad
9:00pm - Marcus Bentley: "In November last year, hundreds people from accross the united kingdom auditioned in 8 different cities, over the past few months big brother has narrowed them down to 16. Tonight, those 16 people will enter this house, watched by over 50 cameras. Here they will stay for 13 weeks, unless their evicted. This is, big brother!"
9:01pm - Titles roll

and so on.

Launch show: 9 till 11pm

I loved when they did the hours and minutes countdown. I cant remember if that was for BB6 or BB7.

90 minute launch - with no sneak peaks of Davina until the show itself.


In the minute before the show starts, a countdown begins. We countdown from 60 and then at 55 seconds C4 show a trailer. Back to the countdown at 35 seconds, before another trailer at 30 seconds. And then from 10 seconds the countdown concludes, with a quick warning for language/flash photography and then the show begins.


And in a reverse to the old closing shots, we begin with a "lights on" sequence - several overly dramatic shots of the house lighting up and rooms being revealed. These are accompanied with soundbites from the new housemates, designed to get your attention.

And then the final shot and we're outside the main door with Davina... "Big Brother ALWAYS gets back to you"...


Roll titles - and a funky new version of the theme - for the first time it's noticeably remixed, but still unmistakeably Big Brother.


Davina does her introductions and gets straight into the house for a tour, finishing by unveiling the diary room, where she links to a package of failed auditionees.

Back out in the crowd and it's time for a break, but before each break there is a teaser of the housemates to come - just random shots and soundbites which reveal nothing.


In part 2 the housemates begin to arrive - 13 in total, with 4 in part 2 and 3 in the following three parts. The VT's are shot more mysteriously than usual with lots of close ups, silhouettes and obscured shots - their image isn't revealed in full until their about to be introduced to the crowd.

Usually process then - they walk through, Davina voice over, we'll have a bit of music too and then send them in the house.

Repeat, repeat, repeat and then we're done.

Part 3 and Part 4 would begin with a bit of a plug for BBLB and then Big Mouth, officially unveiling the new hosts to the audience.


At the end of the show the housemates are left to get on with things - but a twist is revealed to viewers to ensure we'll be tuning back in the next night.
