So there is an advert on Talksport and other places a lot at the moment from
the "Government" telling us that an energy saving new shower head (or a poorer flow one) "could" save us £40 a year. No mention that they cost around £28 so you "could" save £12 or so a year What is the actual point of such adverts that cost us a small fortune to make and run in prime spots? Am i missing something? ![]() meanwhile after the Superbowl around 500 private Jets left LV Airport

There’s another one suggesting we set our clothes washers to 30 degrees to save £20 a year !!
That’s about enough to get fish , chips and peas twice !! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

There's a couple of radio adverts going.
One an upbeat woman telling us to save money, turn off a radiator you're not using. I mean, do they really think we're that dumb? It's just common sense. |

when the energy costs were at their highest, and costing people a fortune, they were recommending things that saved £5 a year. I think they are actually trolling

2 other things to note from this pathetic advert
It says that a benefit to buying a new shower head is to save water when CEOs of water companies have been raking in huge bonuses for polluting our rivers 365 days a yearand it says "you know how all the best ideas come to you in the shower?" has anyone seriously heard anyone ever say that? |

i also put my computer off for couple hours in the day, when i go on my PS4, not having two things on same time also saves up some energy
+ my computer can rest and cool down either, win win

They do things like this all the time. Sunak announcing "great things" they've done to make families "better off" by like £150 a year. Completely detached from the actual costs of running a normal household.
Basically IMO, the issue is that when you're a multi-millionaire it's hard to remember the difference between £150 and £1500... and even moreso with ones who also grew up rich. Last edited by user104658; 17-02-2024 at 12:51 AM. |
