cause of this crash, were the flaps extended? because this is scarily similar to Northwest Airlines 255 in detroit back in 1987 where the pilots failed to extend the flaps before takeoff, killing 154 people and only 1 survivor

Footage and eyewitness accounts indicated that the plane took off from the runway's southern side located in Koteshwor, making a sharp bank and falling with its wing tip striking the ground first. The plane caught fire on impact and skidded into a gorge east of the runway between an aircraft hangar and a radar station

definitely makes me think of misconfiguration of the flaps, pilot error


were the pilots rushing through their takeoff briefing?

One airport official reported that "cracking noises" seemed to come from the plane prior to the crash

this makes me not think of pilot error, but maybe improper maintenance if the cracking noises were the flaps struggling to extend properly due to fatigue or something?



what the investigators need is the CVR if pilots mention extending flaps in their takeoff briefing or not
